Kannywood Awards is an annual film event presented by Kannywood Guild of Actors honouring outstanding achievement in the Kannywood Movie Industry. It was first held in 2014, in Kano State. The 2015 Kannywood Awards, honouring movies of 2014, was held at NAF Conference Center, Abuja, FCT, on January 31, 2015. Emir of Gumel from Jigawa State, Ahmad Muhammad Sani [1] was the chief host.

Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor Award

The Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor is an honour, begun in 1969, presented annually at the Kerala State Film Awards of India to an actor for best performance in a Malayalam film. Until 1997, the awards were managed directly by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the Government of Kerala. Best of Nollywood Awards is an annual film event presented by Best of Nollywood Magazine honouring outstanding achievement in the Nigerian Movie Industry. The first edition was held on December 6, 2009, in Ikeja, Lagos State. The 2013 ceremony honouring movies of 2013, was held at Dome, Asaba, Delta State on December 5, 2013. Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan as the chief host, and the nomination party was held at the State House in Lagos. The red carpet used for the event was aimed to be one of the longest in history.

Ali Nuhu Nigerian actor and director (born 1974)

Ali Nuhu Mohammed is a Nigerian actor and director. He acts in both Hausa and English movies and he is also known as king of kannywood or "sarki” Ali by the media; Kannywood is the Hausa film industry headquartered in Kano, Nigeria. Ali Nuhu has appeared in more than 500 Nollywood and Kannywood films, and earned numerous accolades. Nuhu is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential actors of all time in the history of Hausa Cinema, as well as Nigerian Cinema In terms of audience, size and income, and he has been described as the most successful Hausa film star in the world. He is the first Nigerian celebrity to act in both the Northern Kannywood and Southern Nollywood movie industries of the country with full dominance and bringing the two cinemas together.

Hadiza Aliyu Nigerian actress (born 1989)

Hadiza Aliyu also known as Hadiza Gabon, is a Nigerian professional Actress and filmmaker, she acts in both Hausa and English movies. Hadiza serves as an ambassador for MTN Nigeria and Indomie noodles company, Hadiza was named best actress at 2013 Best of Nollywood Awards, she has also won the 2nd Kannywood/MTN Awards in the year 2014. She presently serves as the founder of HAG Foundation. Born in Libreville, Gabon, She acts in both Hausa and English movies.

The 2015 Kannywood Awards was the 2nd edition of the ceremony supported and sponsored by MTN Nigeria and took place in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria on January 31, 2015. The event was hosted by the Emir of Gumel, Ahmad Muhammad Sani.

Nollywood Nigerian film industry

Uzee Usman Adeyemi is a Nigerian actor and film Producer known for his film Oga Abuja. His ability for fusing Nollywood and Kannywood won him several awards and recognitions including Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2016 National Heritage Award.

Nazifi Asnanic

Nazifi Abdulsalam Yusuf better known stage name Nazifi Asnanic is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, director, and producer. He was born and raised in the ancient city of Kano. Nazifi Asnanic often referred to as the Golden Voice, he is recognized as one of the most successful Hausa artists of all time in the history of Kannywood. He has received numbers of awards and nominations including City People Entertainment Awards as the best musician in 2014. He was also among the Kannywood stars that received an award by Zamfara State government of Nigeria for their tremendous effort and contribution toward uniting and sustaining Hausa culture. Nazifi Asnanic has featured, produced, and directed numbers of film in Kannywood.

Nuhu Abdullahi Balarabe is a Nigerian film actor and producer, born and raised in Kano State. Nuhu is one of the most promising Kannywood actors, he acts in both hausa and English movies. He has won the best supporting actor in Kannywood at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2015,

Halima Yusuf Atete also known as Halima Atete is a Nigerian film actress and film producer, born and raised in Maiduguri, Borno state. Halima Atete is well known in kannywood film industry for the role she always plays as the mischievous and jealousy fille-role. She joined kannywood in 2012, she made her debut in Asalina a film that she produced, after her appearance in several movies such as Kona Gari, Asalina, Dakin Amarya, she won best new actress at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2013, she was nominated by the London based news organization African Voice over her excellent performance in the entertainment industry.

Sadiq Sani Sadiq is a Nigerian film actor. In The year 2012 he participated in Blood and Henna, a Nigerian film directed by Kenneth Gyang along with Nafisat Abdullahi and Ali Nuhu. He has received awards and nominations including 2015 Kannywood Awards in jurors award category organized by MTN Nigeria, he was also awarded by the City People Entertainment award in 2014 and 2017. He is married with two children.

Abubakar Bashir Abdulkarim also known as Abubakar Bashir Maishadda is Nigerian film producer who works in kannywood film industry.
