Kantilal Ghia was a leader of the Indian National Congress from Gujarat. He was the first deputy chief minister in Government of Gujarat in the early 1970s.
Gujarat is a state along the western coast of India. Its coastline of about 1,600 km (990 mi) is the longest in the country,most of which lies on the Kathiawar peninsula. Narendra Damodardas Modi is an Indian politician who has served as the 14th prime minister of India since May 2014. Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Varanasi. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),a right-wing Hindu nationalist paramilitary volunteer organisation. He is the longest-serving prime minister from outside the Indian National Congress.

The 2002 Gujarat riots,also known as the 2002 Gujarat violence,was a three-day period of inter-communal violence in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The burning of a train in Godhra on 27 February 2002,which caused the deaths of 58 Hindu pilgrims and karsevaks returning from Ayodhya,is cited as having instigated the violence. Following the initial riot incidents,there were further outbreaks of violence in Ahmedabad for three months;statewide,there were further outbreaks of violence against the minority Muslim population of Gujarat for the next year.
The Gujarat Sultanate,or the Sultanate of Guzerat,was a late medieval Indian kingdom established in the early 15th century in Western India,primarily in the present-day state of Gujarat,India. The kingdom was founded by Muzaffar Shah I who was appointed as Tughlaq governor of Gujarat after the death of his father in 1371. Following Timur's invasion of the Delhi Sultanate,Delhi was devastated and its rule weakened considerably,so he declared himself independent in 1407,and formally established the Sultanate. The next sultan,his grandson Ahmad Shah I moved the capital to Ahmedabad in 1411. His successor Muhammad Shah II subdued most Rajput chieftains. The prosperity of the sultanate reached its zenith during the rule of Mahmud Begada. He also subdued most Gujarati Rajput chieftains and built a navy off the coast of Diu. In 1509,the Portuguese empire wrested Diu from the Sultanate in the Battle of Diu (1509). The Mughal emperor Humayun attacked Gujarat in 1535 and briefly occupied it,during which Bombay,Bassein &Daman would become a Portuguese colony,thereafter Bahadur Shah was killed by the Portuguese while making a deal in 1537. The end of the sultanate came in 1573,when Akbar annexed Sultanate of Guzerat into his empire. The last ruler Muzaffar Shah III was taken a prisoner to Agra. In 1583,he escaped from the prison and with the help of the nobles succeeded to regain the throne for a short period before being defeated by Akbar's minister Abdul Rahim Khan-i-Khanan.

Amit Anil Chandra Shah is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the 31st Minister of Home Affairs since 2019 and the 1st Minister of Co-operation of India since 2021. He served as the 10th President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2014 to 2020. He has also served as chairman of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) since 2014. He was elected to the lower house of Parliament,Lok Sabha,in the 2019 Indian general elections from Gandhinagar. Earlier,he had been elected as a member of the upper house of Parliament,Rajya Sabha,from Gujarat from 2017 to 2019.
The Statue of Unity is the world's tallest statue,with a height of 182 metres,located near Kevadia in the state of Gujarat,India. It depicts Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950),who was the first deputy prime minister and home minister of independent India and an adherent of Mahatma Gandhi. Patel is highly respected for his leadership in uniting 562 princely states of India to form the single Union of India. The statue is located in Gujarat on the Narmada River in the Kevadiya colony,facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast of the city of Vadodara.
Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel is an Indian politician,Civil Engineer and Builder who is serving as the 17th and current Chief Minister of Gujarat since 2021. He represents the Ghatlodia Assembly constituency in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly since 2017. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He started his political career in municipal bodies of Ahmedabad.

Legislative Assembly election was held in Gujarat from 1 to 5 December 2022 in two phases,to elect 182 members of 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results were declared on 8 December 2022.
