Karen Pearce Kryczka (born November 24,1940) is a former politician from Alberta,Canada. [1]
Kryczka was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 1997 Alberta general election. She served as a back bench member for the Progressive Conservatives. In 2001 she was re-elected for a second term. She retired from her seat in 2004 when she decided not to run again.
In the Legislature she was the chair of the Seniors Advisory Council for Alberta.
She was a supporter of Jim Dinning's campaign in the 2006 Alberta Progressive Conservative leadership election.
Kryczka is the mother of Canadian Olympian Kelly Kryczka, [2] and was married to Adam Kryczka,the brother of Joe Kryczka. [3] [4]

The Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta was a provincial centre-right party in the Canadian province of Alberta that existed from 1905 to 2020. The party formed the provincial government,without interruption,from 1971 until the party's defeat in the 2015 provincial election under premiers Peter Lougheed,Don Getty,Ralph Klein,Ed Stelmach,Alison Redford,Dave Hancock and Jim Prentice. James Francis Dinning is a Canadian Progressive Conservative politician and businessman. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta (1986–1997),and now is on the board of directors of several Canadian companies. Dinning ran for the leadership of the Alberta Progressive Conservatives to replace Ralph Klein as Premier of Alberta. Dinning raised over $2 million for his leadership bid but was ultimately defeated by Ed Stelmach when party members voted for Klein's replacement on December 2,2006. In June 2010,he was selected as the 12th Chancellor of the University of Calgary. Dinning is an advisor to Canada's Ecofiscal Commission.

Joseph Julius Kryczka was a Canadian ice hockey administrator,coach and referee,and had a legal career as a lawyer and judge,where he was commonly known as "Justice Joe". He graduated from the University of Alberta,and played hockey with the Golden Bears. He practiced law in Calgary for more than 20 years,beginning in 1959 as a lawyer,becoming a judge,and was eventually elevated to a justice on the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta.
