Karen Stack Umlauf is a former executive and assistant coach of the National Basketball Association's Chicago Bulls.
Stack Umlauf was a standout basketball player for the Northwestern Wildcats in the early 1980s. [1] After a year of playing basketball overseas, she joined the Bulls in 1985, starting with a role of selling tickets. [2] Over the next decades, she rose to become director of basketball operations for 20 years and later senior director of basketball administration. [3]
In 2017, she lobbied Bulls head of basketball operations John Paxson to let her coach. She was first assigned to the summer league. [4] In so doing, she became the Bulls' first female assistant coach, combining that role with the role of director of team operations. [5]
On October 12, 2020, the organization announced Stack Umlauf would not return to the coaching staff under newly-hired head coach Billy Donovan. [6]
Stack Umlauf is the sister of Jim Stack, a former scout and assistant general manager for the Bulls and later general manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves. [4] She is also the aunt of NBA player Frank Kaminsky. [7]
John MacBeth Paxson is an American basketball administrator and former player who was vice president of basketball operations for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 2009 to 2020. He was their general manager from 2003 to 2009.
James William Cartwright is an American retired National Basketball Association (NBA) player and a former head coach with the Chicago Bulls. A 7'1" center, he played 16 seasons for the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Seattle SuperSonics, helping the Bulls capture consecutive championships in the 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons. He attended Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California, and played college basketball at the University of San Francisco.
Paul Douglas Collins is an American basketball executive, former player, coach and television analyst in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played in the NBA from 1973 to 1981 for the Philadelphia 76ers, earning four NBA All-Star selections. He then became an NBA coach in 1986, and had stints coaching the Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers. Collins also served as an analyst for various NBA-related broadcast shows. He is a recipient of the Curt Gowdy Media Award.

William John Donovan Jr. is an American professional basketball coach and former player and current head coach of the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was previously the head coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously spent 19 seasons at the University of Florida, where his Florida Gators teams won back-to-back NCAA championships in 2006 and 2007. Donovan has more wins than any other coach in the history of the Florida basketball program, and he coached the Gators to more NCAA tournament appearances, NCAA tournament wins, and Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships than all other Florida coaches combined.
Craig Anthony Hodges is an American retired professional basketball player and former head coach of the Westchester Knicks of the NBA Development League. He played in the NBA for 10 seasons and led the league in 3-point shooting percentage three times. He won two NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls, and along with Larry Bird, is one of only two players to win three consecutive Three Point Contests at the National Basketball Association All-Star Weekend, winning the competition in 1990, 1991, and 1992. Hodges also holds the Three Point Contest records for the most consecutive shots made with 19, set in 1991, and the most points scored in a single round at 25, set in 1986. He was later a head coach at Chicago State University, an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers and head coach of the Halifax Rainmen of the National Basketball League of Canada.

Kelly Krauskopf is an American basketball executive. She is the former director of operations of Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Krauskopf is the former president and general manager of the Indiana Fever. She helped build the Indiana Fever franchise and led the team to WNBA playoffss thirteen times; the Fever took three conference titles and won the WNBA championship in 2012.
