Karin Holmgren (born 1959) is a Swedish biologist and geographer. She is a professor of natural geography and is the deputy chancellor of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences since 1 January 2019.
Holmgren studied biology and geosciences at Stockholm University.
Holmgren worked with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) in Tanzania for three years and for two years at Sida's main office in Stockholm.
During 2010-2015, Holmgren was the director of the strategic partnership Navarino Environmental Observatory between Stockholm University, the Academy of Sciences in Athens and the Greek ecotourism company TEMES.
Since 1 March 2016, Holmgren is a professor in natural geography at the Department of Urban and Rural Development. As of 1 January 2019, Holmgren is the acting vice-chancellor of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. [1]

The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, or Swedish Agricultural University (SLU) is a university in Sweden. Although its head office is located in Ultuna, Uppsala, the university has several campuses in different parts of Sweden, the other main facilities being Alnarp in Lomma Municipality, Skara, and Umeå. Unlike other state-owned universities in Sweden, it is funded through the budget for the Ministry for Rural Affairs. The University was co-founder of the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) which was established in 2001.
Södertörn University is a public university college located in Flemingsberg in Huddinge Municipality, and the larger area called Södertörn, in Stockholm County, Sweden. In 2013, it had about 13,000 full-time and part-time students. The campus area in Flemingsberg hosts the main campus of SH, several departments of the Karolinska Institutet, and the School of Technology and health of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge, is also located there. Karin Markides, born 1951, is a Swedish professor in analytical chemistry who is the president of American University of Armenia starting from 1 July 2019. She was also the President and CEO of Chalmers University of Technology from 2006 to 2015. From 2004 to 2006 she was vice director general for Vinnova. She is also board member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences since 1992 and a board member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences since 1999.

Katarina (Karin) Helena Fjällbäck-Holmgren (1881–1963) was a Swedish politician who was active in the areas of social welfare and women's suffrage. She served as secretary and deputy chair of the Stockholm branch of the National Association for Women's Suffrage (LKPR). Politically liberal, she was active on several of the Liberal Party's committees and from 1919 participated enthusiastically in municipal council meetings. She served on Stockholm's public school directorate in the 1920s and from 1931 chaired the city's welfare agency for children.
