Karina Buhr (born 20 May 1974) is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, actress and percussionist.

Biography

Born in Salvador, Buhr grew up in Recife, where she started collaborating as a percussionist with several traditional maracatu groups. [1] [2] In 1997 she co-founded the band Comadre Florzinha, serving as singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and album cover illustrator. [1] She started her solo career in 2010, with the album Eu menti pra você, with which she was awarded the Prêmio APCA  [ pt ] of the Associação Paulista de Críticos de Arte for best new artist. [1] [2] In 2011 she released her second album Longe de Onde and took part to several festivals, including Rock in Rio and Roskilde Festival. [1] [2] Both her first two albums were included in the list of the best albums of the year published by Rolling Stone Brasil . [2] She was nominated at the MTV Video Music Brazil for best female artist, best album and best song. [2] In 2014 she held a European tour, performing in Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Porto and Lisbon. [2] In 2015 she released her third album, Selvática, and held a national tour. [2] In 2018 she reunited with Comadre Florzinha members Alessandra Leão and Isaar França for a series of shows. [2] In 2019 she released the album Desmanche, also serving as co-producer with Regis Damasceno. [2]

Buhr won the award for best soundtrack at the 45th Brasília Film Festival for the Marcelo Gomes's film Once Upon a Time Was I, Verônica . [2] As an actress, she took part to several stage plays with the Teatro Oficina company in São Paulo. [2] She made her film debut in Meu Nome é Bagdá by Caru Alves de Souza  [ pt ]. [3] Also a writer, in 2015 she published a collection of poems entitled Desperdiçando Rima. [2]

Exaltasamba is a Brazilian pagode music group, formed in 1982 in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo. The group began simply playing gigs in restaurants and bars. They later began writing their own songs, eventually releasing an album, "Eterno Amanhecer" in 1992. However, it wasn't until 1996 that they truly became successful, with their 1996 and 1997 albums, "Luz do Desejo and "Desliga e Vem" each going Double Platinum. They released a Live Album with songs handpicked by their fans via E-Mail. In 2003, one of their best known Vocalists, Thiaguinho, joined the group. They continued to release albums. Their 25th Anniversary was in 2010, and they had written new material to perform on this show. The year thereafter, Thiaguinho announced that he planned on leaving the group. Blá Blá Blá is the third studio album released by Brazilian girl group Rouge on June 16, 2004 by Columbia Records. The album is the first of the group like quartet, marking the absence of member Luciana Andrade. In this work, the Rouge bet in a more aggressive and mature pop, being considered the preferred album among the members. After having few to no writing credits on their previous two studio albums, in Blá Blá Blá brings the four members of the group writing two songs in partnership with Milton Guedes and Rick Bonadio, and Fantine and Karin have written a song by themselves; the repertoire also brings Bonadio's original compositions, alone or together with Fúlvio Márcio, Clio, Beto Paciello and Guedes.
