Karina Stowers (née Penetito; born 2 February 1986) is a New Zealand rugby union player. She played for New Zealand internationally and provincially for Auckland.

Rugby career

Stowers made her test debut for New Zealand aged 19, on 29 June 2005 against Scotland at Ottawa.

Stowers was part of the Black Ferns squad that won the 2010 Rugby World Cup. [1] She toured England with the Black Ferns in 2012. She featured in the first test which they lost 13–16 at Esher. [2]

In 2013, Stowers was named in the Black Ferns squad that faced England in three test matches. [3] [4] They clinched the series after beating the Red Roses 14–9 in the second test. [5] [6]

Personal life

In December 2011, she married New Zealand sevens representative and former Blues winger Sherwin Stowers. [7]

They unfortunately lost to Ireland in the pool games, which meant that they did not qualify for the semifinals. She came off the bench in their fifth place final victory over the United States.

Phillipa Love is a New Zealand rugby union player. She plays for the Black Ferns internationally and was a member of their 2021 Rugby World Cup champion squad. She also plays for Matatū in the Super Rugby Aupiki competition and represents Canterbury provincially.

Renee Holmes is a New Zealand rugby union player. She played for Matatū in the 2022 and 2023 seasons of the Super Rugby Aupiki competition and in 2024 for Chiefs Manawa.
