Karla Conway (born July 5, 1946, in Pasadena, California) [1] was the name used by the American model and artist Karla Jo Musacchia for her appearance as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its April 1966 issue. [1]
Sachi began creating art early in the 1980's. She created soft sculpture that were sold by Circus Circus in Las Vegas and by New York toy retailer FAO Schwartz. Her 30-inch sculpture likeness of Hugh Hefner was featured in the December 1982 issue of Playboy. [2]
Due to her concern for the environment, she created a turtle logo for companies to use for bags that they make that are both biodegradable and compostable.
Sachi was approached at Malibu beach when she was 19 years old and invited to pose for Playboy. She was photographed surfing, as the surfing culture was popular at the time. [2]
She married poet Jon Woodjack in 1966. They had one child, Aaron Marcus, who died in 1987. They travelled to Europe and Africa. They separated but reunited to live in Penngrove, California where Woodjack was running the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. [2]
