Plot
No females remain in Guan's (Him Damsyik) family. Philip (Hengky Solaiman) is the only child of Guan. From Philip's two marriages, he has children named Martin (Verdi Solaiman) and Arman (Joe Taslim). Arman decides to leave the house to study in Australia. In Australia, Arman meets Sandra (Dominique Diyose) and they fall in love. Sandra gets pregnant (out of wedlock) and is kicked out of home. Armand returns home and takes Sandra with him to his own family. Their arrival is greeted with a thrown glass. Strange sounds follow in the middle of the night and a female figure appears dressed in ancient Chinese dress, along with voices telling her to get out of the house, constantly terrorize her. From the people who had contact with Guan's family, Sandra discovers that every woman who enters the Guan's family will get hurt. However, because of her love for Armand and their unborn child, Sandra insists on staying and looking for ways to stop the karma that exists in Guan family.
The arrival of Armand and Sandra is not greeted with happiness by Armand's grandfather, Guan.

Running on Karma, also known as An Intelligent Muscle Man, is a 2003 Hong Kong action thriller film produced and directed by Johnnie To and Wai Ka-fai. The film is ultimately a Buddhist parable about the nature of karma. There were some cuts in the Mainland China edition to meet the requirements for release there.
Solomon & Gaenor is a 1999 Welsh film written and directed by Paul Morrison. It stars Ioan Gruffudd as an Orthodox Jewish man named Solomon Levinsky who falls in love with a gentile woman named Gaenor Rees, played by Nia Roberts. They enter into a forbidden love affair, which has tragic consequences. It was filmed twice, once with principal dialogue in English and once with it in Welsh. In the English-language version, there are some scenes in Welsh and in both versions there are scenes in Yiddish. The Welsh-language version was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 72nd Academy Awards.
Cross-dressing in film has followed a long history of female impersonation on English stage, and made its appearance in the early days of the silent films. Charlie Chaplin and Stan Laurel brought the tradition from the English music halls when they came to America with Fred Karno's comedy troupe in 1910. Both Chaplin and Laurel occasionally dressed as women in their films. Even the beefy American actor Wallace Beery appeared in a series of silent films as a Swedish woman. The Three Stooges, especially Curly, sometimes appeared in drag in their short films. The tradition has continued for many years, usually played for laughs. Only in recent decades have there been dramatic films which included cross-dressing, possibly because of strict censorship of American films until the mid-1960s. One early exception was Alfred Hitchcock's thriller Murder!, where the murderer is a transvestite who wears particularly frilly dresses and petticoats. Cross-gender acting, on the other hand, refers to actors or actresses portraying a character of the opposite gender.
