Kashinath Rao Vaidya (died 13 March 1959,Hyderabad) was an Indian lawyer and politician. [1] Vaidya was elected to the Hyderabad State Legislative Assembly in the 1952 election as the Indian National Congress candidate from the Begum Bazar constituency. [2] Vaidya obtained 15,794 votes (72.48% of the votes in the constituency). [3] Following the election,he was elected speaker of the Assembly,a position he held until 1956. [4] [1]
Vaidya died in Hyderabad on 13 March 1959.[ citation needed ]

The Puducherry Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian union territory (UT) of Puducherry,which comprises four districts:Puducherry,Karaikal,Mahéand Yanam. Out of eight union territories of India,only three have legislatures and they are Delhi,Puducherry and Jammu and Kashmir. After delimitation shortly after its formation,the Puducherry legislative assembly has 33 seats,of which 5 are reserved for candidates from scheduled castes and 3 members are nominated by the Government of India. 30 out of 33 Members are elected directly by the people on the basis of universal adult franchise and the remaining three are nominated by the central government. These nominated members enjoy same powers as elected members of the assembly.

The first legislative assembly Election to the Madras state based on universal adult suffrage was held in 27 March 1952. This was the first election held in Madras state after the Indian Independence. This election was officially known as the 1951 Madras State Election,even though through delays,actual voting didn't take place until early 1952.
The second legislative assembly election to the Madras state was held on 31 March 1957. This was the first election held after the linguistic reorganisation of Madras State in 1956. Indian National Congress and its leader,K. Kamaraj won the election and defeated their rival,Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. In 1954,due to the resignation of C. Rajagopalachari,for his controversial Kula Kalvi Thittam,the leadership of Congress was contested between K. Kamaraj,and C. Subramaniam. Eventually,K. Kamaraj,won the support of the party,was elected leader and chief minister of Madras State in 1954. In a surprise move,he appointed both M. Bhaktavatsalam and C. Subramaniam,to his cabinet,allowing great unity amongst the Congress that ruled the state of Madras,for the next decade. This election saw future DMK leaders M. Karunanidhi and K. Anbazhagan win their first MLA seats in the legislative assembly.

During 7 April 1949 –9 April 1952,he was the minister for Firka development,Khadi,Cottage industries,Fisheries,Cinchona and Harijan uplift in the P. S. Kumaraswamy Raja cabinet. During 1952–54,he was the mayor of Madras. From 13 April 1954 until 31 March 1957,he was the minister for Transport,Harijan Uplift,Hindu Religious Endowments,Registration and Prohibition in K. Kamaraj's first cabinet. During 1958–62,he was a member of the Rajya Sabha –the upper house of the Indian parliament.
The Gujarat Legislative Assembly or Gujarat Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Gujarat,in the state capital Gandhinagar. Presently,182 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from single-member constituencies (seats). It has a term of 5 years unless it is dissolved sooner. 13 constituencies are reserved for scheduled castes and 27 constituencies for scheduled tribes. The 1952 Coorg Legislative Assembly election was held to constitute the Coorg Legislative Assembly,electing members of legislature for 18 constituencies of the erstwhile Indian State of Coorg. It took place on 27 March 1952 and a total of 87,947 people voted 24 out of 60 candidates to power. This was the only election to the assembly before the State was merged into Mysore as per the States Reorganisation Act in 1956.

The All People's Party or Sarbadal was a political party in Assam,northeast India. The party was founded in Dibrugarh by Ahom elites on May 8,1945. It united different groups that sought to challenge the Indian National Congress in elections. The All India Muslim League,the Tribal League and the Ahom Sabha took part in the founding of the party. The party sought to mobilise the Kachari,Muttock and Deuri communities,to compete against caste Hindus for political influence. To a large extent,the party represented tea garden labourers. During its initial period,the party demanded that the British colonial government should create a separate Ahom constituency. The party cooperated with the Muslim League,being united in their opposition against the Congress party.
Amar Nath Yadav, alternatively Amarnath Yadav is an Indian politician and former member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He is a veteran leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation and a member of the Bihar State Committee of the party. He is also the vice president of the Kisan Mahasabha in Bihar. He is known for his opposition to the erstwhile rule of local strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin and described by a Hindustan Times article as "the only man who stood up to Shahabuddin". He had represented the Darauli constituency from 1995–2000 and from 2005–2010. He rose to prominence in the area after the murder of the student leader Chandrashekhar Prasad in 1997,who died whilst campaigning against Shahabuddin.
