Kasturi Balaji (born 1955) is an Indian journalist and publisher who is the Managing Director of The Hindu since 20 March 2010. [1]
Balaji was born in 1955 to G. Kasturi and his wife, Kamala. He graduated in commerce from the Loyola College, Chennai and MBA from the University of Bombay.
Balaji joined The Hindu in 1977 and till 1991, he was associated with newspaper and magazine production. He was instrumental in setting up an ink manufacturing plant.
From 1991 to 2000, Balaji served as Managing Director of Sanka Graphics Pvt Ltd and from 2000 to 2010, he was director of Kasturi and Sons Ltd, which published The Hindu. He is in-charge of production, EDP, accounts and circulation.

It is one of the Indian newspapers of record and the second most circulated English-language newspaper in India, after The Times of India. Swadesamitran was a Tamil language newspaper that was published from the then Madras city from 1882 to 1985. Integral Coach Factory (ICF) is a manufacturer of rail coaches located in Perambur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1955 and is owned and operated by the Indian Railways. It is located in Perambur, in the suburbs of Chennai. He launched The Indian Express in 1932 from the monies of his capitalists partner Raja Mohan Prasad which is held in a trust by the current legal heirs for the family of Raja Mohan Prasad and created the Indian Express Group with various English and regional language publications. Narasimhan Ram is an Indian journalist and a prominent member of the Kasturi family that controls The Hindu Group of publications. Ram was the managing-director of The Hindu since 1977 and its editor-in-chief since 27 June 2003 until 18 January 2012. Ram also headed the other publications of The Hindu Group such as Frontline, The Hindu Business Line and Sportstar, and has been awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India and Sri Lanka Ratna by the Government of Sri Lanka.
Kasturi Srinivasan was an Indian journalist and businessman. He was the eldest son of S. Kasturi Ranga Iyengar.
Janmabhumi is an Indian Malayalam-language daily newspaper, owned by Mathruka Pracharanalayam Ltd. and headquartered in Kochi, Kerala. It was launched as an evening paper from Kozhikode on 28 April 1977. From 14 November 1977 onwards it was upgraded to a daily newspaper publishing from Ernakulam. S. Kasturi Ranga Iyengar was an Indian lawyer, Indian independence activist, politician and journalist who served as the managing director of The Hindu from 1 April 1905 till his death.

Gopalan Kasturi was an Indian journalist who served as the Editor of The Hindu from 1965 to 1991. He was a grandson of S. Kasturi Rangya Iyengar, the patriarch of the family that owns The Hindu. Kasturi became the editor of the newspaper after the death of S. Parthasarathy, who was an uncle. Kasturi was the longest serving editor of the newspaper.
