Kathleen Frances Joblin MNZM (born 1961or1962) [1] is a New Zealand local politician and chartered accountant. She has been a member of the Whanganui District Council since 2016,and was chair of the Whanganui District Health Board from 2007 to 2013.
In the 2016 local elections,Joblin won a seat in the Whanganui District Council. She was re-elected in 2019,saying that she wanted to continue previous work that the council had started. As of 2019 [update] she is the Finance and Strategy Committee chairperson and she co-chairs the Positive Ageing Forum of the council, [2] which provides support to the elderly. [3] She was re-elected again 2022 for her third term,saying that her priorities were in housing and public transport. [4] The committees that she is on include the Strategy and Policy,Risk &Assurance,Chief Executive's Performance Review,and Emergency committees. In 2022,she was paid $56,724 per year as councillor. Joblin previously served on the Whanganui District Health Board for 11 years,and was chair between May 2007 and December 2013. [2] [6] [7]
Joblin runs accounting company Kate Joblin &Co Ltd. She is also a trustee of the Life to the Max Trust, [2] and chairs the Safer Whanganui advisory group. [5] Joblin is married to Ross Mills,and has six children. [8] [9] In 2010,Joblin and Mills bought a one-hectare (2.5-acre) property at Westmere,where they established a lavender farm. [8]
In the 2013 New Year Honours,Joblin was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit,services to health. [10]
Triennial elections for all 74 cities,districts,twelve regional councils and all district health boards in New Zealand were held on 9 October 2004. District health boards (DHBs) in New Zealand were organisations established by the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000 under the Fifth Labour Government,responsible for ensuring the provision of health and disability services to populations within a defined geographical area. They existed from 1 January 2001,when the act came into force,to 30 June 2022. Initially there were 21 DHBs,and this was reduced to 20 organisations in 2010:fifteen in the North Island and five in the South Island. DHBs received public funding from the Ministry of Health on behalf of the Crown,based on a formula that took into account the total number,gender,age,socio-economic status and ethnic mix of their population. DHBs were governed by boards,which were partially elected and partially appointed by the minister of Health.

Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) was a district health board that provided healthcare in the Auckland Region in New Zealand,mainly on the Auckland isthmus. This district health board existed between 2001 and 2022 and was governed by a part-elected,part-appointed board. Wayne Kelvin Forrest Brown is a New Zealand politician and the mayor of Auckland since the 2022 Auckland mayoral election. He has worked in leadership roles in several large New Zealand businesses and public infrastructure organisations. He was mayor of the Far North District Council from 2007 to 2013.
