Devulapalli Krishnasastri was a Telugu poet, playwright and translator known for his works in Telugu literature and Telugu cinema. He is known as Andhra Shelley. In 1976, Krishnasastri was honoured with Padma Bhushan, third highest civilian award in India. In 1978, he received Sahitya Akademi Award for his literary works.

Alluri Seetarama Raju is a 1974 Indian Telugu-language biographical action film directed by V. Ramachandra Rao and written by Tripuraneni Maharadhi. The film stars Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, and Jaggayya. It is produced by Padmalaya Studios marking the 100th film of Krishna. The film depicts the life of Alluri Sitarama Raju, an Indian revolutionary, who is known for his role in the Rampa Rebellion of 1922–24. Seetarama Raju, with a band of farmers, tribal leaders and other sympathizers, fought an armed rebellion against the British Raj in response to repressive legislation passed in 1882.
Ekaveera is an Indian novel written by Kavi Samrat Viswanatha Satyanarayana in Telugu language. It was penned between 1929–31 and was published in Bharathi magazine in 1935. Originally written in Telugu, it has since been translated into various Indian languages. This is the second novel of Viswanadha and it is the only novel written by the poet with his own handwriting. In 1969, a film version was released.
Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna is a 1967 Telugu-language film produced by actor Padmanabham and directed by K. Hemambharadhara Rao. The film stars Padmanabham in the title role along with Geetanjali, Mukkamala, Rajanala, Prabhakar Reddy, Raja Babu in supporting roles. Krishna, Sobhan Babu, and Haranath made guest appearances in a song with Rajasree. The film was successful at the box office.
Chelleli Kapuram is 1971 Indian Telugu-language drama film written and directed by K. Viswanath. Produced by Mannava Balayya under the banner of Amrutha films. The film was remade in Tamil as Anbu Thangai.
Gorintaku is a 1979 Indian Telugu-language romantic drama film directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. It is a family sentiment film starring Sobhan Babu and Sujatha. The initial scenes of the film were shot in black and white. The title song "Gorinta Poochindi Komma Lekunda", written by Devulapalli Krishnasastri, casting Savitri is remembered even today. The film was remade in Hindi as Mehndi Rang Layegi.
Bhakta Kannappa is a 1976 Indian Telugu-language film directed by Bapu. The film is a remake of 1954 Kannada movie Bedara Kannappa starring Rajkumar which was based on the life of Shaiva devotee, Kannappa Nayanar.

It won two state Nandi Awards and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Telugu for Talluri Rameswari. Seetamalakshmi was remade in Tamil as Enippadigal (1979), and in Hindi as Sitara (1980).
Soggadu (transl. Charmer) is a 1975 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by K. Bapayya and produced by D. Ramanaidu under Suresh Productions. The film stars Sobhan Babu as the title character alongside Jayachitra and Jayasudha. Anjali Devi, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Raja Babu, Allu Ramalingaiah, Santha Kumari, and Nagesh play supporting roles. Released on 19 December 1975, the film was a big commercial success. It was remade in Hindi as Dildaar (1977) and in Tamil as Radhaiketra Kannan (1978).
Bangaru Panjaram is 1969 Indian Telugu-language romantic musical film directed by B. N. Reddy, and written by Palagummi Padmaraju. The soundtrack was helmed by S. Rajeswara Rao, with lyrics penned by Devulapalli Krishnasastri. The film is the last directorial of B. N. Reddy. The film received the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu, and was screened at the 4th International Film Festival of India.
