Katharina Alice Hilda Stenbeck (born March 23, 1987) is a Swedish artist, electronic musician and singer.

Early life and theatre

Stenbeck grew up in Saltsjöbaden outside Stockholm but also lived in London as a child. She studied theatre at Södra Latin in Stockholm before moving to New York City to attend The American Academy of Dramatic Arts from 2005 to 2008. [1]

Music

Stenbeck fronted the Brooklyn-based post-disco band Folding Legs from 2009 to 2015. In the spring of 2017, she launched Galleriet (Swedish pronunciation:  [ɡalɛˈrǐːɛt] , "The Gallery") [2] and released her debut solo album, Romantic Gestures, later the same year. [3] Three of the songs from the album, "Right Wavelength", "Homesick Lover" and "Juvenile", premiered on Swedish national radio in Musikguiden for Sveriges Radio P3. [4] [5] In 2018, she released the EP, Send Me Your Daughter. [6]

Stenbeck, who self-produces all her work, employs the use of masks, audiovisual installations and other theatrical elements in her music videos and live performances. [7]

Art

Stenbeck is a self-taught artist. Her work spans a wide variety of mediums, including painting, papier-mâché sculpture, video installation, wearable art and stop motion animation. [8] [9]

She launched a YouTube channel in March 2019, on which she shares videos about her work. [10] In August 2019, she launched an online store of housewares, accessories and artwork designed and created by Stenbeck in her studio. [11] In the spring of 2021, her short film I Have Anxiety was exhibited at Liljevalchs Vårsalong in Stockholm. [12]

Stenbeck currently splits her time between Los Angeles, California and Stockholm, Sweden. [13]

"Jag kommer" is a song that was recorded by Swedish singer Veronica Maggio and is included on her third studio album Satan i gatan (2011). Maggio co-wrote the song with Steffan Olsson and the track's producer Christian Walz. On 10 February 2011, it was released to contemporary hit radio stations in Sweden as the album's lead single. The track is a pop rock song about the beginning of a relationship. Some music critics noted a double entendre in the lyrics, though according to Maggio, the song's meaning is open to interpretation. It also attracted accusations of plagiarism of the Strokes' "Reptilia" from the Swedish public, which the singer denied.

The band, fronted by a female lead singer, is known for their exuberant and stylized live shows, often incorporating art and performance elements.

Mabel Alabama-Pearl McVey is an English and Swedish singer and songwriter. She had her breakthrough in 2017 with her single "Finders Keepers" which peaked at number eight on the UK Singles Chart. "On the Low" is a song by Swedish singer Tove Styrke from her third studio album, Sway (2018). Styrke wrote the song with Elof Loelv, who handled the production. It stood as one of the first songs written for the album and was previewed by Styrke while touring in the fall of 2017. The song was released as the album's fourth single on 6 April 2018 through Sony Music. Musically, it is a downtempo pop song that Styrke sings with whispered and falsetto vocals over a production consisting of a minimal beat and bird calls. The song's lyrics narrate the protagonist's desire to be in a relationship while her partner prefers to keep it casual.

mxmtoon American singer-songwriter and YouTuber (born 2000)

Maia X. M. T., known professionally as mxmtoon, is an American singer-songwriter and YouTuber. Her music is characterized by emotionally transparent, confessional lyrics, and often employs the ukulele. She released her first EP, Plum Blossom, in 2018; her debut album, The Masquerade, was released in September 2019. This was followed by the twin EPs Dawn and Dusk in 2020, and second studio album Rising, which was released on May 20, 2022.
