Katie Henrick (born 21 July 1980), also known by her married name of Katie Martyn, [1] is an English snooker and pool player. She was runner-up in the 2007 World Ladies Snooker Championship. [2]

Biography

Henrick was a student at the Hundred of Hoo school [3] and played pool before turning to snooker at the age of 14, taught by a family friend. She joined the women's snooker circuit at the age of 16. [4] [1]

She was the recipient of the World Ladies Billiards and Snooker Association Most Improved Player award in both 1998 and 1999. In 2000 she joined the Young Players' Distinction programme, which helps young players develop their game as well as providing media training and advice on how to manage stress. [3]

In 2002, she achieved the highest break, 121, in the World Ladies Snooker Championship. [3]

She won her only ranking title, the 2007 Ladies East Anglian Open Championship, in 2007. [5] 2007 was also the year of her appearance in the World Ladies Snooker Championship final, where she was beaten 3–5 by Reanne Evans. [2] [6]

From 2009, Henrick took up playing pool again, and in 2019 was ranked fourth by the World Eightball Pool Federation. [7] [8]

Henrick once doubled for Holly Willoughby on a children's television show, playing a trick shot whilst dressed in a French maid's outfit. [9] She has worked as the Royal Automobile Club's snooker professional since 2003, coaching members. [1]

The 2017 World Women's Snooker Championship was a women's snooker tournament that took place at the Lagoon Billiard Room in Toa Payoh, Singapore, from 13 to 19 March 2017. The event was the 2017 edition of the World Women's Snooker Championship first held in 1976. The event was won by Hong Kong's Ng On-yee, who defeated Vidya Pillai in the final 6–5. The final was played over nine hours, becoming the longest recorded best-of-11-frames match, over an hour longer than the previous record set at the 1992 UK Championship.

The 2019 World Women's Snooker Championship was a women's snooker tournament that took place at the Hi-End Snooker Club, Bangkok from 20 to 23 June 2019. Reanne Evans won the event with a 6–3 victory against Nutcharut Wongharuthai in the final. This was Evans' twelfth world championship victory.

The 2007 Women's World Snooker Championship was a women's snooker tournament played in the United Kingdom in 2007. Defending champion Reanne Evans beat Katie Henrick 5–3 in the final to win her third world title.
