Katie West is a Yindjibarndi Western Australian interdisciplinary artist, exhibiting multi-sensory installations. [1] Her exhibitions often feature dyed textiles and native plants, sewn and woven. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] She documents the processes of her work as a form of storytelling. [9] West grew up in Badgingarra, [10] a town on Noongar country, and is of Yindjibarndi descent.

Awards

West won the Falls Creek Resort Indigenous Art Award [11] and Dominik Mersch Gallery Award in 2017. [11] [12] She was chosen as a participant in the Kickstart program in 2015 and exhibited at the Next Wave Festival in 2016. [13]

Kathleen Petyarre was an Australian Aboriginal artist. Her art refers directly to her country and her Dreamings. Petyarre's paintings have occasionally been compared to the works of American Abstract Expressionists Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko, and even to those of J.M.W. Turner. She has won several awards and is considered one of the "most collectable artists in Australia". Her works are in great demand at auctions. Petyarre died on 24 November 2018, in Alice Springs, Australia.

He has created a number of photography books; won numerous national and international awards including four World Press Photo awards; and his photographs are held in numerous public and private collections.
