The Kauffman Fellowship is a two-year educational, networking, and leadership development program for venture capitalists. [2] It was named after Ewing Marion Kauffman. The Kauffman Fellows Program is a nonprofit with a history of identifying, educating, mentoring and networking future venture capitalists. As of 2011 [update] , it had graduated more than 250 fellows, who have worked at venture firms in the U.S. and internationally. [3]
In 2020 the Kauffman Fellows Program celebrated its 25th anniversary and welcomed its “Class 25” cohort of 61 incoming Fellows, 41 % of whom were women and 49 % identified as people of colour, marking the organisation’s most diverse class at that time. [4]
By 2025 the programme heralded a global network spanning over 65 countries and announced that its incoming Class 30 cohort came from 20 countries across 6 continents — underscoring its expansion and international reach. [5]
The Kauffman Fellows Program originated as an endeavor of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, from which it was spun out in 2000, [6] and is now managed by the Center for Venture Education, based in Palo Alto, California.
