Kayko and Kokosh (Polish : Kajko i Kokosz) is a Polish-language animated television series based on the comic series Kajko and Kokosz by Janusz Christa. The series was developed by EGoFILM studio and is the first Polish animated Netflix original series. [1] It premiered on 28 February 2021, and since 1 December same year the series has been distributed worldwide. [2]

All episodes were written by Maciej Kur, who is also the writer of the newest volumes of the Kajko and Kokosz comic book series, and Rafał Skarżycki. Directors include comic book author Michał Śledziński.[ citation needed ]

Kajko and Kokosz or Kayko and Kokosh is a Polish comic book series by Janusz Christa that debuted in Poland in 1972 and was published primarily until 1992. Mixing history and fantasy tropes it is centered on light-hearted and often comedic adventures of two Slavic warriors named Kajko and Kokosz, loosely resembling both Asterix and Obelix, as well as two personalities from Christa's earlier series on Kajtek i Koko. The series consists of 20 comic albums, as well as a number of shorter stories published in various magazines. In 2006, a short 3D animated movie was made.

Polish comics are comics written and produced in Poland. Very few of these comics have been published in languages other than Polish.

<i>Milionerzy</i> 1999 Polish TV series or program

Milionerzy (Millionaires) is a Polish game show based on the original British format of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The show is hosted by Hubert Urbański. The main goal of the game is to win 1 million Polish złoty by answering twelve multiple-choice questions correctly. There are three classic lifelines – ask the audience, fifty fifty and phone a friend – and also two other lifelines – ask the expert and switch the question. From March to December 2010 contestant could choose risk game, where the second guaranteed sum was not guaranteed. The first version of Milionerzy was broadcast from 3 September 1999 to 26 January 2003, the second version was broadcast from 19 January 2008 to 19 December 2010, and the third version has been broadcast since 9 February 2017. Since 2017, it is shown every Monday to Thursday at 8:50 p.m. or 8:55 p.m. on the Polish commercial television station TVN. Since 2008, when a contestant gets the second question correct, they will leave with 1,000 zł. When a contestant gets the seventh question correct, they will leave with 40,000 zł.

<i>Osiedle Swoboda</i> Comic book

Osiedle Swoboda is a Polish comic book written and illustrated by Michał Śledziński. It was supposed to imitate American comic books such as Spider-Man. The first issues appeared in the papers of Produkt magazine and since 2004 it has been published separately by Niezależna Prasa. It consists of 6 issues; the final bimonthly issue was published in 2006. A prototype of "Swoboda" is the estate Szwederowo in Bydgoszcz – the home estate of the author himself. The comic book reflects customs of youth living back in the 1990s, and therefore is considered one of the most important comic books published in Poland.

<i>The Witcher</i> Fantasy franchise

The Witcher is a series of nine fantasy novels and 15 short stories by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The series revolves around the eponymous witcher, Geralt of Rivia. Witchers are monster hunters given superhuman abilities for the purpose of killing dangerous creatures. The Witcher began with a titular 1986 short story that Sapkowski entered into a competition held by Fantastyka magazine, marking his debut as an author. Due to reader demand, Sapkowski wrote 14 more stories before starting a series of novels in 1994. Known as The Witcher Saga, he wrote one book a year until the fifth and final installment in 1999. A standalone prequel novel, Season of Storms, was published in 2013. Another prequel, Rozdroże kruków, was published in 2024.

The game was released for Amiga in 1994, for PC MS-DOS in 1995, and for PC Windows in 1998. It was the first of several video-game adaptations of the Kayko and Kokosh comics. The game was described as a commercial success, despite receiving mixed reviews.

It premiered from 6 to 18 December 2019.
