Kazi Abdus Sattar

Kazi Abdus Sattar is a veteran of Bangladesh Liberation War and recipient of Bir Protik, the third highest gallantry award of Bangladesh. [1] [2] In 2023, he was posthumously awarded the Independence Award, the highest civilian award of Bangladesh, by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for his contribution to the Bangladesh Liberation War. [1] [3] He was born in the Kazi family of Gopalpur, Kalkini Upazila, Madaripur District. [4] He was a physician and politician. [4] His daughter, Zohra Begum Kazi, was the first female Muslim doctor of Bengal. [5] [6]

Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the Minister of Commerce in the third Mujib Rahman ministry under Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and assumed the presidency of Bangladesh after the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, 1975. He praised the assassins as "sons of the sun" and put cabinet ministers loyal to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in jail. He was himself deposed by another coup, less than three months later on November 3, 1975.

Shamsul Alam was a Bangladesh Army officer and veteran of Bangladesh Liberation War. He was awarded the Independence Award, the highest civilian award of Bangladesh, posthumously in 2023 for his contribution to the Bangladesh Liberation War by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was an accused in the Agartala Conspiracy Case. He had served as the director general of medical services of Bangladesh Army after the war.

Md Fazlul Haque was a flight sergeant of the Pakistan Air Force and a veteran of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was an accused in the Agartala Conspiracy Case along with fellow Flight Sergeant Zahurul Haq. Both men were shot in custody by their Pakistani guards which resulted in the death of Zahurul Haq. Protests over the death culminated in the 1969 East Pakistan mass uprising.
