Kelsey Wingert covers the Colorado Rockies for MLB.tv during the baseball season. Prior to working for the Rockies, she reported on the Atlanta Braves [1] and other teams covered by Bally Sports South and did studio cut-ins for NBA and NHL games as well as sideline reporting for Atlantic Coast Conference football games during the baseball offseason. Wingert grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Fort Bend County, Texas, where she played volleyball. [4] She is a graduate of Louisiana State University class of 2014, where she played intramural volleyball and was a member of the Sigma chapter of Delta Zeta. [5] She picked LSU because of the TV broadcast department. [6]
Prior to working for Fox Sports South in 2016, she worked at KALB-TV in Alexandria, Louisiana. [3] She suffered a broken eye socket in a game in 2018 after getting hit with a foul ball hit by Odubel Herrera of the Philadelphia Phillies, [7] [8] [9] but was able to return a few days later. Wingert was not renewed for her job covering the Braves after the 2019 season. [10] She was replaced by Kelly Crull. [11] In 2022, she was hired by AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain to cover the Rockies. [12] A month into her job with AT&T Sportsnet, she was hit in the forehead by a foul ball struck at 95 MPH. [13] [14]
Wingert also hosted Farm to Fame, a podcast about baseball prospects carried on Jomboy Media, together with former MLB pitcher Peter Moylan.
Less than three weeks after being hit by the foul ball, she married Casey Linch on June 4, 2022. [15]
Harry Christopher "Chip" Caray III is an American television broadcaster for Bally Sports Midwest coverage of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He joined the Cardinals' broadcast team after leaving the Atlanta Braves, where he had served as the television play-by-play voice from 2005 to 2022. Max Dorian Fried is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). Drafted in 2012 by the San Diego Padres in the first round, seventh overall, Fried made his major league debut in 2017. His 17 wins in 2019 were 2nd-most in the National League, and his seven wins in 2020 were again 2nd-most in the NL. Fried pitched 6 shut-out innings in the final game of the 2021 World Series against the Houston Astros, helping lead the Braves to their first World Series title in 26 years. Through 2023, Fried had the best career win–loss percentage of all Braves pitchers, at .705.

Albies signed with the Braves organization in 2013, and made his MLB debut with the team in 2017. During his first full season, Albies was named to the 2018 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Albies was later named to the 2021 and 2023 All-Star games. He won the National League Silver Slugger Award for second basemen twice, in 2019 and 2021. In 2021 he won the Heart & Hustle Award.

The Atlanta Braves tomahawk chop and name controversy involves the name and tomahawk chop tradition by the Atlanta Braves, an American Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise. Native Americans have been questioning the Braves' mascot choices since the 1970s. Native American objections to the tomahawk chop received much attention during the 1990s and have continued into the 2020s. The Atlanta Braves and their fans continue their overwhelming support of the team name and chop tradition.
Major League Baseball (MLB) games aired on the predecessor networks for the American pay television channel Freeform. These began in 2000, when the channel was known as Fox Family Channel, co-owned by News Corporation and Haim Saban, as a replacement for Thursday night games that had aired on Fox Sports Net in prior seasons. The package also included some games in the postseason Division Series. After The Walt Disney Company bought the channel in 2001, renaming it to ABC Family, the games were moved to the Disney-owned ESPN channels, although the 2002 Division Series games that had been acquired as part of the purchase remained on ABC Family because of existing contractual obligations. Those games moved to ESPN the following year as well.
