Lang'ata Constituency is an electoral constituency in Nairobi City County. It is one of the seventeen constituencies in the county. It consists of southern and southwestern areas of Nairobi. Langata constituency had common boundaries with a now-defunct Kibera Division of Nairobi. It is the largest constituency in Nairobi with an area of 196.80 km2 (76.0 sq mi). It was known as Nairobi South Constituency at the 1963 elections but since the 1969 elections it has been known as Lang'ata Constituency.

The opening of the parliament was fraught with jeers,cheers and brawls between the opposing parties;Mwai Kibaki was greeted by the ODM members with silence and boos,while Raila was greeted by PNU members with accusations of genocide.
Farah Maalim Mohamed is a Kenyan Politician who served as the Member of Parliament for Lagdera Constituency from 29 December 1992 to 29 December 1997,and then from 27 December 2007 to 4 March 2013. He's currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Dadaab Constituency since 9 August 2022. Bernard Mate was a Kenyan politician and one of the first group of Africans to be elected to the Legislative Council of Kenya (LegCo),the legislative arm of government in the British Colony of Kenya,representing what was the black constituency of Central Kenya. Nairobi City County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya. With an estimated population of 5,454,000 in 2024,it is the third-smallest in area of the counties,yet the most populous one. It also serves as the capital of Kenya. The county entity was effected in 2013,replacing Nairobi City Council,which had been the long-standing unit of local administration since before Kenya's independence. The city county consists of eleven gazetted sub-counties and eighty-five electoral wards. On the national level,Nairobi also sends seventeen Members of Parliament across the constituencies and one County Woman Representative to the National Assembly;and one senator to the Senate. The county government,which is allotted devolved functions as stated in the Constitution of Kenya,is headed by the county governor,who appoints his cabinet. The county's legislature is headed by the County Speaker,who presides over the County Assembly. The Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) are elected from single-member districts and represent their respective electoral wards. Additional MCAs are also nominated by political parties as a form of affirmative action.
