It was established in 1906 as Bengal Technical Institute and was converted into Jadavpur University in 1955. The College of Engineering and Science (COES) is one of five colleges at Louisiana Tech University, a public research university in Ruston, Louisiana. The roots of the college date back to the founding of Louisiana Tech in 1894 when the Department of Mechanics was created. Bir Bhanu is the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns Endowed University of California Presidential Chair in Engineering, the Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Cooperative Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering, at the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Intelligent street lighting refers to public street lighting that adapts to movement by pedestrians, cyclists and cars in a smart city. From 2013 to 2018, he served as the Chancellor at Washington State University. From 2006-2013, he was the Dean of Engineering at California State University, Los Angeles. Dr. Moo-Young was the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies at Villanova University, where he also served as Interim Dean from 2004 to 2006.
Eric Fred Schubert. is an electrical engineer, researcher, educator, and inventor who made technical contributions to semiconductor devices, particularly LEDs. He has authored four books, 39 U.S. patents, and more than 300 technical papers.
