Kenny Nims (born March 21, 1987) was a lacrosse player for the Chicago Machine of Major League Lacrosse. [1] He played college lacrosse for the Syracuse Orange. [2] Nims played for the Orange from 2006 to 2009, leading the team to two straight NCAA tournament championships in 2008 and 2009. The Machine selected Nims with the first pick of the 2009 MLL draft. [2]

Steven Brooks is a professional lacrosse player that retired from the New York Atlas of Premier Lacrosse League in 2019. Brooks was the 6th overall draft pick in the 2008 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft by the Chicago Machine. He played high school lacrosse for Libertyville High School in Libertyville, Illinois. He also attended a postgraduate year at Bridgton Academy, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in September 2023. Brooks played college lacrosse at Syracuse University. In January 2020, Brooks was named assistant coach of the New York Atlas in the professional lacrosse league PLL. He is the first ever PLL player turned coach in the league's history. He is currently serving as offensive coordinator and assistant coach for New York Atlas.

The Chicago Machine were a Major League Lacrosse franchise from 2006 until 2010. The Machine, a men's professional field lacrosse team, played in Toyota Park from 2007 until 2009. Chicago played all its "home" games at various stadiums across the country in 2010. Over its five-year history, the Chicago Machine were 13–47 and never made the playoffs. Following the 2011 season, their players were transferred to the Rochester Rattlers.

The Florida Launch were a professional men's field lacrosse team based in Boca Raton, Florida. They joined Major League Lacrosse (MLL) as an expansion team for the 2014 season until 2019. The team played its home games at Florida Atlantic University Stadium. The team was owned by Jim Davis, chairman of New Balance, an early investor in the MLL.
