Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS provider of community services in Kent, East Sussex and Newham. It was awarded Foundation Trust status in March 2015. [1]

The organisation, which has about 5,500 staff, was formed on 1 April 2011 by a merger of Eastern and Coastal Kent Community Services NHS Trust and West Kent Community Health, as part of the Transforming Community Services programme.

It was named by the Health Service Journal as one of the top hundred NHS trusts to work for in 2015. At that time it had 4467 full-time equivalent staff and a sickness absence rate of 4.2%. 69% of staff recommend it as a place for treatment and 54% recommended it as a place to work. [2]

Virgin Care secured a seven-year £126 million contract to run services in community hospitals in Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and Swale in January 2016 formerly provided by the trust. [3]

It was rated “outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission in July 2019. [4]

With the projected further growth of Milton Keynes and its population the hospital expects to be expanding its services over the next 20 years. The hospital has an association with the University of Buckingham Medical School.

The Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust is an NHS Trust with an annual budget of about £121 million, and employs 1,900 staff. It manages Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup, Erith and District Hospital and Elm Court.

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is a National Health Service trust named after the ancient Oxleas Woods between Bexley and Greenwich.

Medway NHS Trust is an NHS foundation trust based in Kent which runs Medway Maritime Hospital.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust operates Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. The Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2006. The Trust's chief executive is Lesley Watts and its chairman is Sir Thomas Hughes-Hallett.

Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust was formed in April 2006 by a merger between East Kent NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust and West Kent NHS and Social Care Trust.

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest mental health and disability Trusts in England employing more than 7,000 staff, serving a population of approximately 1.7 million, providing services across an area totalling 4,800 square miles. It works from over 70 sites across Cumbria, Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland. It also has a number of regional and national specialist services.

Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS foundation trust which provides community health, mental health and learning disability services across Hampshire. It is one of the largest providers of such services in England.

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust was formed in 1991, and is based in Whiston, Merseyside.

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust runs Warwick Hospital which has 350 beds and provides inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic services. The trust also runs Stratford Hospital where there are outpatient clinics and a Minor Injury Unit, and Royal Leamington Spa Rehabilitation Hospital. The Trust employs over 2,200 people and serves a population of about 270,000.

Cambridgeshire Community Services Trust is an NHS trust was established as part of the programme called Transforming Community Services under which a number of community health NHS trusts were established when these services were separated from primary care trusts.

Healthcare in Kent is now mainly the responsibility from 1 April 2020 of the Kent & Medway Clinical Commissioning Group. Certain specialised services are directly commissioned by NHS England, coordinated through the South East integrated regional team. Some NHS England structures are aligned on a Kent & Medway basis, others on a South East basis and there is liaison with London that provides many tertiary healthcare services to the residents of Kent.
