The Kenya Cardiac Society (KCS) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization found in Kenya with the aim to promote cardiac health and cardiac-related activities.
Founded by the late Prof. Hillary Ojiambo and Prof. Peter Odhiambo, and eight members of the 1980 Kenyatta National Hospital Cardiac team, the society has since grown and is now a member of the World Heart Federation with more than 60 members.
KCS is best known for its collaborative program with Mater Hospital and the Heart Walk held every September.
The late professor of medicine and head of cardiology department at the University of Nairobi, contributed to establishing the clinical science labs at Kenyatta National Hospital for the School of Medicine. In April 1997, the man who kept a rosary, Bible, and dummy heart on his desk passed away. His wife, Dr. Julia Ojiambo, and their children Josephine, Jack, "Tess," and Sanda survived him. [1]
Daniel Toroitich arap Moi was a Kenyan politician who served as the second president of Kenya from 1978 to 2002. He was the country's longest-serving president. Moi previously served as the third vice president of Kenya from 1967 to 1978 under President Jomo Kenyatta, becoming president following the latter's death.

Geoffrey William Griffin OBE was the founding director of Starehe Boys' Centre and School in Kenya. This is journal is known for editorials championing novel and esoteric mechanisms pertaining to cardiac function including ‘The Heart as the Concertina Pump’ and suggesting that stiffness of the great arteries contribute to cardiorenal syndrome. The most provocative editorial is a recent one that discusses the role of implantable cardiac defibrillators in sudden death. He is also Vice-Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, at The Ohio State University of Medical Center.
The Wiper Democratic Movement–Kenya (WDM-K), formally Orange Democratic Movement–Kenya (ODM–Kenya), is a political party in Kenya, which originated as a result of the 2005 Kenyan constitutional referendum. Gurumukh Sajanmal Sainani is an Indian general physician, medical researcher, medical writer and an Emeritus Professor of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. He is a former director of the All India Heart Foundation and the incumbent director of Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. He is a recipient of the highest Indian award in the medical category, Dr. B. C. Roy Award, from the Medical Council of India and the rank of Honorary Brigadier from the President of India. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award of the Padma Shri in 2000.

He graduated in medicine (MBBS) from the Maulana Azad Medical College and continued his studies at the same institution to secure MD in 1975 and, DM in cardiology in 1978. Later, he obtained advanced training in interventional cardiology from Australia during 1983 to 84. He has served the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as a professor of cardiology and has been a member of the faculty of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, G. B. Pant Hospital, Batra Hospital and Fortis Health Care, NCR. and Executive Director and Dean at Fortis Health Care, New Delhi.
Kewal Kishan Talwar is an Indian cardiologist, medical academic and writer, and a former chairman of the Medical Council of India. He is a former director of the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) and is reported to have performed the first implantation of Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapy in South Asia. He is also credited with the introduction of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in India. He is a recipient of several honours including B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 2006, for his contributions to medicine. Presently Dr. Talwar is working in PSRI Hospital Sheikh Sarai, New Delhi as the chairman of Cardiac Sciences
Kirinyaga University is a public university situated in Kutus Kerugoya in Kirinyaga County, Kenya.
Kenyatta University Hospital is a National Referral Hospital with a 650-bed capacity. The hospital is equipped to offer specialized Oncology, Trauma & Orthopedics, Renal, Accident & Emergency, among other services but the oncology center is its flagship project. The hospital was officially opened by His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta on 10th of September 2020 though it had been in operation since October 2019. The hospital is currently constructing an integrated molecular imaging center which should help in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer, one of the major reasons Kenyans travel abroad to seek.
Sylvia Shitsama Nyamweya, is a Kenyan consultant neurosurgeon at the Kenyatta National Referral Hospital. She is one of a handful of female neurosurgeons in the country.

Susane Nabulindo Masakhwe, is a Kenyan consultant anesthesiologist at the Kenyatta National Referral Hospital. Her specialty is pediatric anesthesiology, a specialty where, in 2014, there were only five qualified Kenyans in the field. She is one of a very small number of female pediatric anesthesiologists in the country. She also concurrently serves as a lecturer in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Nairobi, Kenya's largest public university.
Zipporah Gathuya, is a Kenyan consultant anesthesiologist, whose sub-specialty is pediatric anesthesia. She served as the Principal Surgeon at St. John Ambulance Kenya, for the 21 years between 1996 and 2017.
