His young widow, Ketura Moss Leitch married General James Taylor Jr. The marriage united the two largest landholders in the area, who together owned most of what is known today as Newport, Bellevue, Southgate, Wilder, Fort Thomas, Highland Heights, Cold Spring, and Alexandria.
