Kevin Konar (born July 8, 1958) is a former star linebacker for the BC Lions.

After playing his university football with the University of British Columbia, Konar would play 10 years with the Leos, from 1980 to 1989, and three Grey Cups (1983, 1985 and 1988) and one championship (in 1985). [1] He was a CFL All Star two times.

Konar is Hindu caste found in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. They are traditionally a pastoral community involved in cattle herding and cultivation. They are a part of the Yadav community. They also known as Ayar and Idaiyar, and appear in the ancient Sangam literature as occupants of the Mullai.

"Running" is the debut single by the band InSoc originally released on the Creatures of Influence album in 1985. The single for Running was distributed to club DJs, and became a favorite all over clubs, particularly in the Latin clubs of New York City. The single was later remixed by Tommy Boy Records and the remix single was released and became even more of a club hit, eventually reaching number 2 on the Dance/Club Airplay charts. Tommy Boy Records signed Information Society in 1986 and their self-titled album soon followed, featuring a mix of the single. In 1988 Information Society's self-titled album was released and went platinum.

Valluvan Vasuki is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language film starring Sathya, Shwetha Bandekar, Ranjith and Ponvannan and directed by K. Bharathi. The story is about the Konar dynasty and much of the shooting was done in villages bordering the Kollidam River in Thanjavur district.

Hare Krishna Konar was an Indian Marxist revolutionary, political theorist, charismatic peasant leader and politician. Konar was a founding member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the figurehead behind India's first land reform, and the chief architect of the West Bengal land distribution. Between the 1960s and 1970s, he became one of the principal leaders of the Communist movements in India. In 1932, due to his involvement in the Begut Robbery Case of the Jugantar Party, Konar was deported to the Cellular Jail of the Andaman for 6 years at the age of 18, there he took part in the first hunger strike and in 1935 he founded the Communist Consolidation and led the historical second hunger strike.

He was originally drafted 25th overall in the 2015 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos and played for six non-consecutive seasons with the team. He played CIS football for the Calgary Dinos.
