The D&K Lafferty Cup Tournament, commonly known as the 'Oban Tournament', is a pre-season football tournament held by Oban Saints AFC in Oban, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The tournament is played in a round-robin format of matches lasting 30 minutes and regularly attracts Scottish league clubs, with SPFL teams (previously SPL) Heart of Midlothian and Dundee United, [1] and (previously SFL) Hamilton Academical and St Johnstone participating in 2008. The tournament was in its fifteenth year as of 2008, [2] with the majority of teams from the previous year returning to compete again. [3]

Jack Ross (footballer, born 1976)

John James Ross is a Scottish professional football coach and former player, who is the head coach of Scottish Premiership club Hibernian. During his playing career, Ross played as a defender and midfielder. From 1992 to 1995 he played for youth sides at Dundee and Forfar Athletic, before dropping to the Scottish Junior leagues for first team action at Camelon Juniors. He then returned to the Scottish Football League in 1999 with Clyde, before a short stint in England with Hartlepool United in 2004. He returned to Scotland a year later and played for Falkirk, St Mirren, Hamilton Academical and Dunfermline Athletic until he retired in 2011 due to a knee injury. He also played once for a Scotland B team, in 2009.

The 1925–26 Scottish Cup was the 48th staging of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. The tournament began on 23 January 1926 and ended on 10 April 1926. The cup was won by St Mirren, who defeated the previous years cup winners Celtic 2–0 in the final.

The Scottish War Emergency Cup was a temporary competition held at the start of the Second World War, due to the suspension of the Scottish Cup by the SFA. It was held between February and May in 1940, the competition involved all sixteen League clubs still operating at the time, Cowdenbeath later withdrew which meant Dunfermline Athletic received a bye in the first round. Rangers beat Dundee United 1–0 in the Final.

The 2008–09 season will be Dunfermline Athletic's 2nd season in the Scottish First Division after being relegated from the Scottish Premier League in 2007.

The 2009–10 Scottish League Cup was the 64th season of the Scotland's second most prestigious football knockout competition, also known for sponsorship reasons as the Co-operative Insurance Cup. Rangers won the cup beating St Mirren 1–0 thanks to a goal from Kenny Miller.

The 2010–11 season was the club's 102nd season, having been founded as Dundee Hibernian in 1909 and their 13th consecutive season in the Scottish Premier League, having competed in it since its inauguration in 1998–99. United also competed in the League Cup and the Scottish Cup.

2011–12 Scottish Cup football tournament season

The 2011–12 Scottish Cup was the 127th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. The tournament began on 24 September 2011 and ended on 19 May 2012. It was sponsored by William Hill in the first season of a three-year partnership, known as the William Hill Scottish Cup. The winner of the competition qualified for the play-off round of the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League. Heart of Midlothian won 5–1 against city rivals Hibernian at Hampden Park.

The 1886–87 Scottish Cup was the 14th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Hibernian won the competition for the first time after they beat defending champions Dumbarton 2–1 in the final.

The 1887–88 Scottish Cup was the 15th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Renton won the competition for the second time after they beat Cambuslang 6–1 in the final. The result set a new record as the largest margin of victory in a Scottish Cup Final - a record that was equalled by Celtic in 1972 but has never been bettered.

The 1888–89 Scottish Cup was the 16th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. 3rd Lanark RV beat Glasgow rivals Celtic 2–1 in a replayed final. The original match was won 3–0 by 3rd Lanark RV but the SFA ordered a replay due to the playing conditions.

The 1889–90 Scottish Cup was the 17th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Queen's Park defeated rivals Vale of Leven 2–1 in a replayed final.

The 2013–14 season is Raith Rovers' fifth consecutive season in the second tier of Scottish football and the first in the newly established Scottish Championship, having been promoted from the Scottish Second Division at the end of the 2008–09 season. Raith Rovers will also compete in the Challenge Cup, League Cup and the Scottish Cup.

2013–14 Scottish League Cup football tournament season

The 2013–14 Scottish League Cup was the 68th season of Scotland's second-most prestigious football knockout competition.

The 2015–16 Scottish League Cup was the 70th season of Scotland's second-most prestigious football knockout competition. It is also known as The Scottish League Cup presented by Utilita for sponsorship reasons.

The 2016–17 season was the club's 4th season in the Scottish Premiership and their fifth consecutive appearance in the top flight of Scottish football. Ross County also competed in the Scottish Cup and the League Cup, having won the League Cup the previous year for the first time in their history.

The 2017–18 Scottish League Cup group stage was played from 14 July to 30 July 2017. A total of 40 teams competed in the group stage. The winners of each of the eight groups, as well as the four best runners-up progressed to the second round of the 2017–18 Scottish League Cup.

Scott Brian Banks is a Scottish footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic, on loan from Crystal Palace. Banks has previously played for Dundee United and Clyde.
