Khalid Mansoor is the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a position he has held since August 2021. [1] [2] He previously served as the Chief Executive of the Hub Power Company. [3]

China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a collection of infrastructure projects that are under construction through out Pakistan beginning in 2013. Originally valued at $47 billion, the value of CPEC projects is worth $62 billion as of 2020. CPEC is intended to rapidly upgrade Pakistan's required infrastructure and strengthen its economy by the construction of modern transportation networks, numerous energy projects, and special economic zones. On 13 November 2016, CPEC became partly operational when Chinese cargo was transported overland to Gwadar Port for onward maritime shipment to Africa and West Asia, while some major power projects were commissioned by late 2017. All the progress for CPEC after COVID-19 pandemic alert in Pakistan as of 2021 has been haulted due to security concerns of the workers and the protests being carried out in the Northwest-Frontier Province and Balochistan.

Asim Saleem Bajwa is a retired Pakistani three-star general who served as the chairman of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority November 2019 and the special assistant to the prime minister on the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from 28 April 2020 to 12 October 2020. On 11 December 2016, Bajwa was appointed as Inspector General Arms at GHQ, where he served until his appointment to the position of Commander Southern Command and XII Corps in September 2017. Previously, he also served as director general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) from 2012 to 2016.

The Karot Hydropower Project is an under-construction concrete-core rockfill gravity large dam in Pakistan, with a planned installed capacity of 720 MW. The project is sponsored by Chinese state-owned company China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG).

Gwadar East Bay Expressway is a municipal expressway currently under construction in Gwadar, Balochistan, Pakistan. The six lane expressway was initially planned to be complete by 2018 but has been delayed to Oct 2021. It will connect Gwadar Port to the Makran Coastal Highway. The Gwadar Port Authority is supervising the project.
