The Somali Armed Forces are the military forces of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Headed by the president as commander-in-chief,they are constitutionally mandated to ensure the nation's sovereignty,independence and territorial integrity.
The Majeerteen is a prominent Somali sub-clan of the Harti,which falls under the Darod clan. Traditionally,they inhabit extensive territories in the Bari,Nugaal,and Mudug regions of Somalia,spanning from Bosaso to Garacad,mainly in Puntland state. Additionally,Majeerteen populations are present in southern towns such as Kismayo.

Minister of Defence Abdiqani Mohamoud Aateye is the designated minister that oversees the armed forces.
Hirsi Ali Isse 'Magan';1935 —2008),commonly known as Hirsi Magan,was a Somali scholar,intellectual,and political dissident. He was a prominent figure in the Somalian Rebellion,Somali culture,and Somalia's political elite. Magan co-founded the Somali Salvation Democratic Front (SSDF),a political and paramilitary group that opposed the government's authoritarian policies,and he was imprisoned for his dissent.
Ali Khalif Galaydh was a Somali politician. He was the Prime Minister of the transitional Somalia administration from 8 October 2000 to 28 October 2001. Galaydh had extensive experience in public policy,diplomacy,public administration,and business. He taught these subjects at public universities in the United States. Additionally,Galaydh was the president of the Khaatumo state. In 2017,he signed an agreement with the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution,this would’ve promoted peace and stability throughout the regions of Sool,sanaag and cayn.

Taleh is a historical town in the eastern Sool region of SSC Khaatumo. As of September 2015,both Khatumo and Somalia had nominal influence or control in Taleh and it's vicinity. The town served as the capital of the pre-independence Dervish movement.

Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas,also more known as Abdiweli Gaas,is a Somali American economist and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Somalia from June 2011 to October 2012,and briefly afterwards as an MP in the newly formed Federal Parliament. During his time as premier,Ali is credited with having devised the formal "Roadmap for the End of Transition",a political process that provided clear benchmarks leading toward the establishment of permanent democratic institutions in the country. On 8 January 2014,he was elected the 5th president of Puntland.
The Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) is a security force based in Puntland,an autonomous region in northeastern Somalia. As of March 2012,the PMPF had around 500 personnel. The force is eventually expected to comprise 10,000 personnel.
Eng. Mohamed Isse Ali,also known as Col. Mohamed Isse Ganaje,is a Somali engineer,Navy commander,and politician. Lacle has extensive experience in naval warfare,electricity and mechanics,politics and diplomacy. He has taught subjects in naval warfare and engineering in the Technical Maritime Intermediate School of the National Somali Navy and served as director from 1981 to 1982. He served in the Somali Navy from 1975 to 1991 and held several commanding positions at his time before the Somali Civil War broke. He holds the rank of naval captain. He currently resides in Garoe,the capital of Puntland.
The 2020 Galkayo bombing was a suicide bombing committed by Al-Shabaab in the city of Galkayo,Somalia. The bombing killed 17 including four high ranking military commanders.
The Somaliland National Army,is the land force and largest branch of the Somaliland Armed Forces is based in the Somaliland capital of Hargeisa. There are approximately under 100,000 active members. The Somaliland National Army is composed entirely of professionals and volunteers due to the army not being mandatory of conscription. Some Somaliland battalions operate near the Puntland border due to a border dispute.
Abdirisak Khalif Ahmed is a Somaliland politician,who was formerly the speaker of Somaliland's Lower House of Parliament. He previously served as Somaliland's Minister of Commerce during the Siilaanyo administration.
Ahmed Abdi Mohamud Sugulle "Habsade" is a Puntland and Somaliland politician. He was a decorated Colonel in the Somali Armed Forces and the second in command of the Somali Custodial Corps equivalent to that of the Italian Arma dei Carabinieri but the Custodial Corps fall under the Ministry of the Interior and are part of the Police Force. A politician and respected elder later in life (he was instrumental in the founding of Somaliland and became the Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives. In 1998,he was appointed Minister of the Interior of Puntland but was dismissed in 2007 after a conflict with Mohamud Muse Hersi,who became President of Puntland in 2006. In 2007,he brought Somaliland troops into Las Anod,leading to Somaliland's effective control of the Sool region. He served as various Somaliland Ministers of state from 2008. In 2014,Abdiweli Gaas became President of Puntland and he come back to Puntland.

Isse Mohamoud Yusuf ''Yuluh'' a former pirate who is involved in various illegal activities in Bari,Puntland,Somalia. He serves as a weapons and logistics facilitator for ISIS-Somalia,operating as part of the Qandala-Hafun network. His role includes smuggling weapons.
