Khor Al Zubair is a city in Basra, in Iraq. As well as the Khor Al Zubair Port, it is also has major industrial areas which are home to laboratories and companies that include petrochemical companies and fertilizer plants. In the south there are iron and steel plants, as well as those producing various liquids and gases. [1]
Umm Qasr is a port city in southern Iraq. It stands on the canalised Khawr az-Zubayr, part of the Khawr Abd Allah estuary which leads to the Persian Gulf. It is separated from the border of Kuwait by a small inlet. A bridge across the waterway linked the port with Kuwait prior to the 1991 Persian Gulf War.
The Al-Faw peninsula is a peninsula in the Persian Gulf, located in the extreme southeast of Iraq. The marshy peninsula is 20 km (12 mi) southeast of Iraq's third largest city, Basra, and is part of a delta for the Shatt al-Arab river, formed by the confluence of the major Euphrates and Tigris rivers. The al-Faw peninsula borders Iran to the northeast, with the cities of Abadan and Khorramshahr on the opposite side of the Shatt al-Arab, and Kuwait to the southwest, opposite from Bubiyan Island and Warbah Island, near the Iraqi city of Umm Qasr.
Az Zubayr is a city in and the capital of Al-Zubair District, part of the Basra Governorate of Iraq. The city is just south of Basra. The name can also refer to the old Emirate of Zubair.

Khor Khwair is an industrial zone located next to Saqr Port in the city of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Located some 25km north of the city, the zone contains marble and concrete manufacturing facilities as well as LPG processing and other industrial enterprises. Saqr Port was inaugurated on 17 September 1977 by the then-Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi - the day after, he attended a ceremony to mark the export of the first five million tons of rock from Ras Al Khaimah.
Al Khor, officially Al Khor and Al Thakhira, is a municipality in northeastern Qatar. Al Başrah Oil Terminal, commonly referred to as ABOT, is a strategically critical Iraqi offshore, deep sea crude oil marine loading terminal that lies approximately 50 km (31 mi) southeast of the Al-Faw Peninsula in the Persian Gulf. Along with its sister terminal, the Khawr al ‘Amīyah Oil Terminal, the terminals provide the principal point of export for more than eighty percent of Iraq's gross domestic product as of 2009, and all of the oil from the southern Başrah refinery.
The Az Zubair Field, also known as Az-Zubayr, is an oil field located in southern Iraq, west of Basrah. It is one of the largest fields in the world and was discovered by the Basrah Petroleum Company, an associate of the Iraq Petroleum Company, in 1949. It has 4.5 billion barrels of proven reserves and currently produces 195 thousand barrels per day but in the next years, under the field's expansion programme, production is expected to reach a plateau level of 1.125 million barrels per day.
Al-Zubair District is a district in Basra Governorate, Iraq. It seat is the city of Al-Zubair. In the 1880s some Najd tribes immigrated to al-Zubair due to the fact that Najd had nothing to offer, but around 1945s they returned to their home after it has changed notably. In the early 1990s, Saddam Hussein hoped to make al-Zubair province number 19 and annex it to Kuwait after invading. The failure of the Invasion of Kuwait put rest to this idea. The district is majority Sunni of Maliki.
