Kiara Lisa Munteanu (17 December 1997) [1] is an Australian gymnast. Munteanu was part of Australia's women's gymnastics team for the 2014 and 2015 World Championships.
Munteanu was born in Melbourne, Victoria. [2] She began practicing gymnastics at age 4. [2] Her mother put her in gymnastics because she was energetic and very active. [3] Her first gym was Niddrie Gymnastics. [3]
Munteanu became an elite gymnast at 11 years old. [3] Munteanu began competing as at the senior level in 2012. That year, she placed first in floor exercise and second all-around at the Australian national championships. [2] She was named to Australia's team for the World Gymnastics Championships in 2014 and 2015 where the team placed seventh and fourteenth, respectively. [2] Munteanu also competed at the Pacific Rim 2014 Gymnastics Championships, placing sixth in uneven bars and tenth all-around. [3] She was named a non-traveling reserve for the 2016 Pacific Rim Championships, a test event for the 2016 Summer Olympics. [4]
Munteanu trains at High Performance Centre located in Prahran, Victoria. [3] She is coached by Misha Barabach, Tracey Penaluna and Lisa Bradley. [2]
Lisa Maree Skinner is an Australian artistic gymnast who competed at the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. She was the first Australian gymnast to qualify for an individual event final at the Olympics. She has toured with Cirque du Soleil performing aerial hoops.
Lauren Stephanie Mitchell is an Australian former artistic gymnast. She is the 2010 World champion on the floor exercise and the 2009 World Championships silver medalist on the balance beam and floor exercise. Mitchell is only the second Australian female gymnast to win a medal at the World Championships, and she is the first to win a gold medal. She is the 2010 Commonwealth Games champion in the all-around, uneven bars, and balance beam, and with the Australian team, and she is the 2008 World Cup Final balance beam champion. She also represented Australia at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games.
Ksenia Dmitrievna Afanasyeva is a retired Russian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. She is the 2011 world champion on floor exercise, the 2013 and 2015 European floor champion, and the 2013 Universiade vault and floor champion. Widely regarded as one of the most original and artistic gymnasts of all time, she retired from elite gymnastics in July 2016 due to kidney disease, a month away from the 2016 Summer Olympics, for which she was the Russian team's first alternate.
Jordyn Marie Wieber is an American former artistic gymnast turned gymnastics coach. Since April 2019, she has been the head coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks gymnastics team.
Brittany Rogers is a Canadian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She attended the University of Georgia and competed for the Georgia Gym Dogs. Consequently, combining both elite and college gymnastics without deferral, Rogers is one of very few gymnasts to have undertaken this combination – vying for a spot on the 2016 Summer Olympics team.
Kyla Briana Ross is a retired American artistic gymnast and current assistant coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks gymnastics team. She is the first female gymnast to win NCAA, World, and Olympic championship titles.
Alexandra Rose Raisman is a retired American artistic gymnast and two-time Olympian. She was captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams, which won their respective team competitions.
Larrissa Miller is an artistic gymnast who represented Australia at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. She made her Australian Senior National Championship debut in 2008, and went on to compete at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Alexa Citlali Moreno Medina is a Mexican former artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World bronze medalist on vault, the first Mexican female gymnast to medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She represented Mexico at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she was the second reserve for the all-around final and at the 2020 Olympics where she placed fourth in the vault final. She won a silver medal on vault at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and a bronze medal on vault at the 2010 Pacific Rim Championships. She is also a five-time medalist on the FIG World Cup circuit. She is the 2011 Pan American Games and 2014 and 2018 Pan American Championships team bronze medalist and the 2010 and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games team gold medalist.
Lauren Zoe Hernandez is an American artistic gymnast. During her debut year as a senior gymnast, she competed as a member of the U.S. women's gymnastics team dubbed the "Final Five" at the 2016 Summer Olympics; Ultimately, the U.S. won gold in the team event. In the individual events, Hernandez earned the silver medal on the balance beam. She returned to training in late 2018 and expressed interest in making a comeback to earn a spot on the U.S. women's gymnastic team for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, but she did not qualify for the Olympic Gymnastics Trials.
Silvia Andreea Zarzu is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast. She was part of the Romanian team that won the gold medal in the team event at the 2014 European Championships and placed fourth at the 2014 World Championships.
Andreea Maria Iridon is a former Romanian artistic gymnast. She won a silver on balance beam and a bronze on uneven bars at the 2015 European Games. At the 2014 Junior European Championships Iridon won silvers on beam and floor, and a bronze with the team.
Emma Jane Nedov is an Australian artistic gymnast that competed at the 2014 and 2018 World Championships. She is the 2013 and 2019 Australian National Champion on beam.
Courtney Louise McGregor is a retired artistic gymnast who represented New Zealand. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics and retired in 2020.
Shallon Jade Olsen is a Canadian artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 World silver medalist and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion on vault. She is also the 2018 Commonwealth Games floor exercise bronze medalist and the 2019 Pan American Games vault bronze medalist. She was a member of the Canadian team that won the gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the silver medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. She is also the 2016 Pacific Rim vault champion, team silver medalist, and floor exercise bronze medalist. She represented Canada at the 2016 Olympics where she was the youngest member of the Canadian Olympic team and at the 2020 Olympic Games. Additionally, she currently competes for the University of Alabama gymnastics team, and she helped the Crimson Tide win the 2021 SEC Championships.
Madelaine Leydin is an Australian gymnast. She won Australia's National Senior All-Around title in 2013. She was part of Australia's team for the 2015 World Championships. In 2017 Leydin began competing for the Arizona Wildcats in the United States.
Georgia Godwin is an Australian artistic gymnast. She is the 2022 Commonwealth Games all-around and vault champion and the team, uneven bars and balance beam silver-medalist. She is also the 2018 Commonwealth Games all-around silver medalist and the team and uneven bars bronze medalist. She represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics and was the third reserve for the all-around final. She is also a two-time World Cup silver medalist.
Emily Whitehead is an Australian artistic gymnast. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, she won a bronze medal in the team event and on the vault. She represented Australia at the 2020 Summer Olympics and is a two-time Oceanic all-around champion (2021-22). She is the 2015 Australian junior national all-around champion and a three-time national all-around medalist at the senior level. She won a silver medal on the vault at the 2018 Melbourne World Cup.
Rianna Leigh Mizzen is an Australian former artistic gymnast. She was a member of the teams that won bronze medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2016 Pacific Rim Championships. She is the 2016 Australian all-around champion and a three-time Australian champion on the uneven bars.
