Kim Tinkler is a flat jockey based in Malton, North Yorkshire. She is married to trainer Nigel Tinkler, and rides most of his runners.
Tinkler had her first ride at Beverley in 1979, but had to wait until 1985 for Wow Wow Wow to give her her first victory. She is most famous for her association with horses such as McGillycuddy Reeks and Henry Hall. Tinkler is one of a select band of women riders to have ridden 200 winners[ citation needed ].

True Grit is a 1969 American Western film directed by Henry Hathaway and starring Kim Darby as Mattie Ross and John Wayne as U.S. Marshal Rooster Cogburn. It is the first film adaptation of Charles Portis' 1968 novel of the same name. The screenplay was written by Marguerite Roberts. Wayne won his only Oscar for his performance in the film and reprised his role for the 1975 sequel Rooster Cogburn.

Nigel Bates is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Paul Bradley from 1992 to 1998.
