Kimaeti is a settlement in Kenya's Bungoma County. It is in Bungoma county, located along the Bungoma Malaba road just a few minutes drive from Bungoma town center.

To the north and south of Kimaeti is Malakisi and Myanga markets respectively. It is a popular area with its huge animal market and religious movements. Every year there is a quran completion held at kimaeti mosque for the whole of Kenya. There are also some small churches in the area.

Mt. Elgon Constituency is an electoral constituency in Bungoma County, Kenya. It was formerly the only constituency in the now defunct Mount Elgon District. The constituency was established for the 1963 elections.

Chwele is a town in Bungoma County, Kenya. The town is an agricultural marketing centre located between Kimilili and Bungoma. The market is the major meeting point for farmers from the surrounding areas of Mount Elgon, Namwela, Sirisia, Lurende, Matibo and Chebukaka especially every Monday when there is a market day. Large quantities of maize, bananas, local vegetables, sim sim as well as livestock such as chicken, goats, cattle and sheep are available for sale. Sub-Counties of Kenya

Sub-counties are the decentralised units through which county governments of Kenya will provide functions and services. Except for the parts which fall under urban areas, sub-counties will coincide with the constituencies created under article 89 of the Constitution of Kenya. Sub-counties will be headed by a sub-county administrator, appointed by a County Public Service Board.

Local elections were held in Bungoma County to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution, which was passed in a 2010 referendum, the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC)which has released the official list of candidates.
