Kingdom (previously titled Navy St.) is an American drama television series created by Byron Balasco. The series premiered on October 8, 2014 on the Audience Network [1] and concluded on August 2, 2017. It stars Frank Grillo, Kiele Sanchez, Matt Lauria, Jonathan Tucker, Nick Jonas, and Joanna Going. Season one consists of ten episodes. [2]

Byron Balasco is an American television producer and screenwriter. He has written and produced for the shows Without a Trace (2006–2009), FlashForward (2010), and Detroit 1-8-7 (2010–2011). In 2014, he signed on to executive produce and write for the series he created Kingdom featuring Frank Grillo.

Frank Grillo American actor

Frank Anthony Grillo is an American actor known for his roles in films such as Warrior (2011), The Grey (2012), End of Watch (2012) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). He had his first leading role in the action horror film The Purge: Anarchy (2014), portraying Sergeant Leo Barnes, a role he reprised in The Purge: Election Year (2016). He also plays the Marvel supervillain Brock Rumlow / Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Big Daddy in the Chinese action film Wolf Warrior 2 (2017), the highest-grossing non-Hollywood film of all time. Also in 2017 he played the main role in the Netflix film Wheelman as a getaway driver in a botched bank heist.

Kiele Sanchez American actress

Kiele Michelle Sanchez is an American actress who starred in the A&E Network drama The Glades. Previously, she had starred as Anne Sorelli in The WB comedy-drama Related and as Nikki Fernandez on the main cast in the third season of the ABC television drama series Lost. She also starred in the DirecTV drama series Kingdom on the Audience Network.

On October 17, 2014, DirecTV announced that the series was renewed for an additional 20 episodes, [3] 10 of which aired in 2015 and 10 in 2016. On July 7, 2016, it was renewed for a third season which premiered on May 31, 2017. [4] [5] On April 1, 2017, it was announced that the third season would be final season of the series. [6]

Its satellite service, launched on June 17, 1994, transmits digital satellite television and audio to households in the United States, Latin America, Americas and the Caribbean. Summary

Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo) owns and runs a mixed martial arts gym called Navy St. Gym in Venice, California, with his girlfriend, Lisa (Kiele Sanchez). He helps people work out and trains fighters along with his sons, Nate (Nick Jonas) and Jay (Jonathan Tucker). Jay has a drug and alcohol problem, but puts it aside to start fighting again. Ryan Wheeler (Matt Lauria) used to be a great fighter until he was sent to prison after a few mistakes in his life. After Ryan's release, Alvey wants him to fight again and be his trainer as it would be good publicity for the gym. Lisa is initially opposed to this, as she and Ryan used to be engaged, but eventually accepts it for the sake of the gym. Alvey's estranged ex-wife, Christina (Joanna Going), is a drug addict and prostitute, with sporadic contact with Kulina and her sons.

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full-contact combat sport that allows striking and grappling, both standing and on the ground, using techniques from various combat sports and martial arts. The first documented use of the term mixed martial arts was in a review of UFC 1 by television critic Howard Rosenberg in 1993. The term gained popularity when newfullcontact.com, then one of the largest websites covering the sport, hosted and republished the article. The question of who actually coined the term is subject to debate.

Nick Jonas American singer

Nicholas Jerry Jonas is an American singer, songwriter and actor. Jonas began acting in theater at the age of seven, and released his debut single in 2002 which caught the attention of Columbia Records where Jonas formed a band with his older brothers, Joe and Kevin, known as the Jonas Brothers. The group released their debut studio album It's About Time through the Columbia label in 2006. After leaving Columbia Records and signing with Hollywood Records, the group released their self-titled second studio album in 2007, which became their breakthrough record. The band became prominent figures on the Disney Channel during this time, gaining a large following through the network and they appeared in the widely successful musical television film Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010) as well as two of their own series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).

The series premiered in Australia on April 7, 2015, on FX [16] and was watched by 16,000 viewers. [17]

The series airs in Canada on Bravo Canada. The first season aired two days after the US broadcast. The second season began on November 11, 2015.

The series airs in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and Puerto Rico on OnDirecTV, a channel of DirecTV. [19]

The series aired in New Zealand on SKY Movies Action on May 3, 2015. [20]
