Cornelius "Con" Murphy was an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Cork senior team.
Cork United Football Club was a League of Ireland club based in Cork from 1940 until 1948.
Albert Rovers F.C. was an Irish association football club based in Cork. Between 1976–77 and 1981–82 the club played in the League of Ireland. During this time the club also played under the names Cork Albert, Cork Alberts and Cork United. The club has also fielded teams in the Munster Senior League and the Cork Athletic Union League. Throughout their history, the club colours were red and black and occasionally white. They were used in various combinations including stripes and hoops.

They have also competed in the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup, the FAI Junior Cup and the Leinster Senior Cup. The Orchard also have reserve teams playing in the Leinster Senior League and enter teams in the Dublin & District Schoolboy League. Cherry Orchard is well known for its youth system which has successfully produced dozens of players who have gone onto play for clubs throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom. In addition many have also gone on to represent the Republic of Ireland at various international levels.
Killeagh GAA club is a hurling and Gaelic football club located in the small village of Killeagh in east County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the East Cork division of Imokilly and the Cork county board.
Cork Football Club was an Irish association football club based in Cork. They were founded as Fords F.C. and later became known as Fordsons F.C.. They played in the League of Ireland between 1924–25 and 1937–38. Like several fellow early League of Ireland clubs, such as St James's Gate, Jacobs, Midland Athletic and Dundalk, the club had their origins as a factory or works team. They were initially the football team of the Ford Motor Company, a major employer in the city at the time. In 1930, however, Ford ended its association with the club and they were renamed Cork. The club folded in 1938 and were replaced in the League of Ireland by a new club, Cork City.
Ballinhassig is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Ballinhassig in County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club was founded in 1886, and now plays Hurling at Premier Intermediate level, having won the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship in 2005, and the Cork Junior Hurling Championship in 2002.
Stemming from these County Championship wins, Ballinhassig competed in Munster and All-Ireland Club Championships, and have won the following Club Championship Finals: Junior Munster Club Final, Junior All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship Final, Intermediate Munster Club Final; but lost out to Dicksboro, of Kilkenny town, in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship Final, played in Croke Park. The club also plays Gaelic football, but hurling is much stronger. The club is a member of Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA.
Carbery Rangers is a Gaelic football club in Rosscarbery in County Cork, Ireland. It plays in games organised by Cork county board. It is one of the oldest clubs in Cork, having been founded in 1887. It currently competes in the Cork Senior Football Championship, and in the Carbery GAA division competitions. The club does not field any hurling teams.

The club fields teams in Gaelic football and Hurling, but is primarily known for hurling. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions. The club is a member of Carbery division of Cork GAA.
Kinsale RFC is a rugby union team located in the town of Kinsale, Co. Cork, Ireland - approximately 18 miles from Cork City. Founded in 1982, the club's 1st team competes in Division 2 of the Munster Junior League. Kinsale also fields various other teams including Ladies, Veterans, and have underage teams from U-8 up to U-18. Kinsale RFC is also home to Europe's largest Rugby Sevens event, The Heineken Kinsale Sevens, which is held at its Snugmore grounds every May.

The Cork Athletic Union League, also known as the Cork AUL, is an association football league featuring amateur and junior clubs from County Cork. Its top division, the Premier League, is a seventh level division in the Republic of Ireland football league system. The Cork AUL is currently sponsored by Murphy's Irish Stout. It is affiliated to the Munster Football Association. Clubs in the Cork AUL also compete in the FAI Junior Cup. Three League of Ireland clubs – Cobh Ramblers, Cork Hibernians and Albert Rovers – were originally members of the Cork AUL.

John Caulfield is a former League of Ireland footballer and manager of Galway United. Caulfield spent the majority of his playing career at Cork City and was a prominent member of the team that won the 1992–93 League of Ireland Premier Division. He was also the League of Ireland Premier Division Top Scorer in both 1991–92 and 1994–95. As a manager Caulfield has won the 2016 FAI Cup, 2017 FAI Cup and 2017 League of Ireland Premier Division with Cork City. Caulfield has also played Gaelic football and represented both Roscommon and Cork at inter-county level, winning an All-Ireland title with the latter.
Avondale United F.C. is an Irish association football club based in Carrigaline, County Cork. Their senior team play in the Munster Senior League Senior Premier Division. They also regularly compete in the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the Munster Senior Cup. Avondale has won the FAI Intermediate Cup a record eight times and have been Munster Senior League champions on eight occasions. After winning the 2012–13 Munster title, they were also invited to play in the 2014 League of Ireland Cup. The club also fields reserve, intermediate, junior, youth and schoolboy teams in the Munster Senior League, the Cork Schoolboys League and the Cork City & County Youths League.

They also regularly compete in the FAI Cup, the FAI Intermediate Cup and the Munster Senior Cup. Corinthians also fields a reserve team and an over 35 team in the lower divisions of the Munster Senior League and women's and schoolgirl teams in the Cork Women's and Schoolgirls Soccer League. In addition the club operates a large youth and schoolboy section and enters teams in the Cork Schoolboys League.

UCC A.F.C. currently fields teams in the Munster Senior League, the Cork Athletic Union League, and the FAI College & Universities Football League

The club also fields teams in various junior and youth leagues. Their schoolboy section regularly fields up to ten teams in the Cork Schoolboy's League.
