Kiron Kumar Gogoi was an Indian teacher and politician belonging to Asom Gana Parishad. He was elected as a member of Assam Legislative Assembly from Moran in 1985. [1] [2]
Before coming to politics Gogoi served as Hindi teacher of Lezai Higher Secondary School. [3] He was the President of the Dibrugarh District Assam Sahitya Sabha and till his death he was a Central Committee member of Assam Sahitya Sabha. [3] He also served as the Chairman of Assam Petrochemicals Limited. [3]
Asom Gana Parishad is a state political party in Assam,India. The AGP was formed after the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13–14 October 1985 in Golaghat,that let Prafulla Kumar Mahanta to be elected as the youngest chief minister of the state. The AGP has formed government twice from 1985 to 1989 and from 1996 to 2001.
