Knights of the Holy Eucharist is a Catholic community of lay brothers founded in 1998 by Mother Mary Angelica. [1] [2] The community follows the Franciscan tradition, emphasizing Eucharistic devotion, Marian spirituality, and service within the Catholic Church. [3] [4] [5]
The Knights were established on July 25, 1998, the Feast of St. James the Greater, in Hanceville, Alabama, where they initially served at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament. [6] Their founding was part of Mother Angelica’s broader efforts to promote Eucharistic reverence and traditional Catholic spirituality. [7] [8]
In 2016, the Knights moved to the Diocese of Lincoln, Nebraska, [9] at the invitation of Bishop James D. Conley. [10] They took residence at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House near Waverly. [11] [12]
