Knockinaam Lodge is a hotel and restaurant located about 3.5 miles South of Portpatrick, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. As of 2008, the restaurant holds one star in the Michelin Guide. [1] As of 2015 it has retained its Michelin Star. [2] By 2017, the Lodge restaurant no longer holds a Michelin star. [3]

It was built in 1869 as a hunting lodge for the Hunter-Blair family from Blairquhan, Maybole, Ayrshire. Winston Churchill and General Dwight Eisenhower are said to have planned the D-Day landings here. [4]

The Michelin Guides are a series of guide books that have been published by the French tire company Michelin since 1904. The Guide awards up to three Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments. The acquisition or loss of a star can have dramatic effects on the success of a restaurant. Thornton's was a restaurant that was housed, in the period 2002–2016, in the Fitzwilliam Hotel, St. Stephen's Green, County Dublin, Ireland. It was previously located on Portobello Road since 1989. It became a fine dining restaurant, that held a one-star Michelin rating in the periods 1996-2000 and 2006–2015. In the period 2001-2005 it held a two-star rating. The restaurant closed on 29 October 2016.

Holbeck Ghyll

Holbeck Ghyll is a restaurant located in Windermere, Cumbria, England. "The late 19th century building was once Lord Lonsdale's hunting lodge and only became a hotel in the 1970s. It won a Michelin star in 1998 but lost it in 2014. It has failed to reclaim the star since. The restaurant is formal and the food a "contemporary take on French and British cuisine".

LEnclume British restaurant

L'Enclume is a restaurant opened in 2002 in Cartmel, Cumbria, England, run by chef Simon Rogan and his partner Penny Tapsell. L'Enclume received a rating of 10 out of 10 five times in the Good Food Guide and named their top restaurant for the fourth consecutive year in the 2017 guide, and placed second in the 2018 guide. It has received three Michelin stars and five AA Rosettes.

Le Champignon Sauvage

Le Champignon Sauvage is a restaurant located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. As of 2008, the restaurant holds two stars in the Michelin Guide. In 1987 the restaurant was opened by husband and wife, David and Helen Everitt-Mattias, initially for a period of three years, but the couple stayed with the restaurant due to high interest rates. To keep costs down, David, the head chef, incorporated cheaper cuts of meat and foraged ingredients on the menu. As of 1 October 2018, the restaurant has been downgraded to 1 Michelin star for the 2019 guide. It is currently the only Michelin starred restaurant in Gloucestershire.

Sixteen was an American restaurant on the sixteenth floor of the Trump International Hotel and Tower in the Near North Side community area of Chicago. It was one of three food and dining options in the hotel's room service offering. Sixteen opened in early February 2008, and an adjoining outdoor patio terrace, named The Terrace at T, opened on June 25, 2009 following the completion of the hotel's construction.

Shanks Restaurant was a restaurant located in Bangor, Northern Ireland, that was awarded one Michelin star each year in the period 1996–2005. It became one of Northern Ireland's top restaurants, alongside Cayenne and Deane's.

Arbutus Lodge was a restaurant and hotel in Cork in County Cork, Ireland. It was a fine dining restaurant that was yearly awarded one Michelin star in the periods 1974–1983, 1987 and 1988.

The Michelin Guide awarded the restaurant the "Red M", indicating 'good food at a reasonable price', in the period 1981–1985. The Egon Ronay Guide awarded the restaurant one star in the period 1983-1985 and 1987–1988.

Clare Smyth Northern Irish chef

Clare Smyth is a Northern Irish chef. She is the Chef Patron of Core by Clare Smyth which opened in 2017. Previously she was Chef Patron at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay from 2012 to 2016, won the Chef of the Year award in 2013, and achieved a perfect score in the 2015 edition of the Good Food Guide. Smyth has also appeared on television shows such as Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen. Smyth also notably catered at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding.

The Walnut Tree (restaurant)

The Walnut Tree is a restaurant in Llanddewi Skirrid, Monmouthshire, Wales, run by chef Shaun Hill and holds a Michelin star. It was previously owned by Franco Taruschio for more than 30 years, and had previously held a star when Stephen Terry was head chef there. It closed briefly in 2007, which the owners blamed on an appearance on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares three years earlier. It regained its Michelin star in 2010 and continues to hold it.

Peel's Restaurant is situated in Hampton Manor, Hampton-in-Arden. It currently holds one Michelin star and four AA rosettes. Hampton Manor is a Grade II listed building. Originally the family home of Frederick Peel, son of Prime Minister Robert Peel, the Manor was acquired by hoteliers Derrick and Janet Hill in March 2008. Under the stewardship of their son, James, and daughter in law Fjona, today it runs as a Restaurant with Rooms.
