Konrad Krauss (born 30 May 1938) is a German actor, known for his role as family patriarch Arno Brandner on the soap opera Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love). [1]
Krauss studied drama and music on the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. In 1960, he played Angel Raphael in a Faust screening. Krauss was seen in various plays and had many guest appearances on television. His life changed when he joined Verbotene Liebe in 1995.
In 2006, his friend and actor fellow Uwe Friedrichsen made a guest appearance to give Arno new optimism.
Verbotene Liebe is a German television soap opera created by Reg Watson for Das Erste. The show was set primarily in the German city of Düsseldorf although, at times, the city of Cologne and the Spanish island of Mallorca figured prominently in the show's story lines. First broadcast on 2 January 1995, Verbotene Liebe was originally broadcast in 24-minute episodes, five times a week. It expanded to 45-minute episodes on 21 June 2011 and trimmed back to 40-minute episodes on 23 January 2012 to accommodate an adjusted time-slot. In 2006, Pay-TV network Passion began broadcasting episodes of the show from the beginning.

Portrayed by Jo Weil (Oliver) and Thore Schölermann (Christian), the characters were introduced seven years apart but rose to prominence as a same-sex supercouple.
