Konstanze Musketa (born 14 September 1956) is a German musicologist and head of the Library of the Handel House Foundation.
Born in Halle an der Saale, after the Abitur Musketa studied musicology at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg in 1975. She wrote her diploma thesis in 1980 about Die Musikhandschriften Johann Friedrich Faschs im Fachbereich Musikwissenschaft der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle. [1] In 1988 the Promotion A to Dr. phil. followed with a thesis on Die Duetti und Terzetti da camera von Georg Friedrich Händel. [2]
In 1980 she became a staff member of the Handel House in the library and documentation department. There she is currently head of the Library, Archive and Research Department as well as the study course. She conceived exhibitions for the Handel House and was responsible for the corresponding museum guides. (1998, 2009 and 2012). She also compiled the catalogue Letters from the partial estate of Friedrich Chrysander (2001).
Her main research interests are Georg Friedrich Händel, Carl Friedrich Christian Fasch and Johann Friedrich Fasch as well as the history of music in Halle. Several musicological publications were produced for the "Internationale Fasch-Gesellschaft", [3] whose president she was from 1995 to 2008. Since 1999 she has been a member of the Georg-Friedrich-Händel-Gesellschaft . [4] She is editor of Handel's chamber duets and terzettes in the Hallische Händel-Ausgabe . [5]
Halle (Saale), or simply Halle (German:[ˈhalə]; from the 15th to the 17th century: Hall in Sachsen; until the beginning of the 20th century: Halle an der Saale ; from 1965 to 1995: Halle/Saale) is the largest city of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, the fifth-most populous city in the area of former East Germany after (East) Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz, as well as the 31st-largest city of Germany, and with around 244,000 inhabitants, it is slightly more populous than the state capital of Magdeburg. Together with Leipzig, the largest city of Saxony, Halle forms the polycentric Leipzig-Halle conurbation. Between the two cities, in Schkeuditz, lies Leipzig/Halle International Airport. The Leipzig-Halle conurbation is at the heart of the larger Central German Metropolitan Region.

The Handel Festival in Halle an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt, is an international music festival concentrating on the music of George Frideric Handel in the composer's birthplace. It was founded on May 25, 1922 and it grew into a center of Handel studies and performance in Europe. Especially Handel's operas have been staged regularly, some of them as first revivals.
The Francke Foundations, also known as Glauchasche Anstalten were founded in 1695 in Halle, Germany as a Christian, social and educational work by August Hermann Francke
Johann Georg Röllig (1710–1790), brother of composer Johann Christian Roellig (b.1716), was a German composer, organist and Kapellmeister at the Court of Anhalt-Zerbst. From the age of 17, Roellig was a student at the Dresden Kreuzschule. According to his autobiography, J.G. Roellig studied composition, with court composer Jan Dismas Zelenka (1679-1745), lessons paid for by Count von Brühl, the Saxon Prime Minister, indicating that the young composer had come to attention of one of the most important figures at the Dresden court. In 1736, he matriculated at the University of Leipzig to study theology. In 1737, Prince Johann August of Anhalt-Zerbst heard Roellig perform and appointed him Court Organist and Court Musician. On the death of court Kapellmeister, Johann Friedrich Fasch, in 1758, Roellig assumed some of his duties, particularly in continuing to supply the court with cantatas. Following Hoeckh's death in 1773, Röllig was finally appointed Kapellmeister in 1774.

The Wilhelm Friedemann Bach House is a cultural site in Halle in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The composer Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710–1784), eldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach, lived here during part of his career; the building now has an exhibition about W. F. Bach and other composers who lived in Halle.

The Philharmonische Staatsorchester Halle was a symphony orchestra in Halle that existed from 1946 to 2006, which functioned as a concert orchestra and was last predominantly supported by the Land of Saxony-Anhalt. As a result of the fusion with the Orchester des Opernhauses Halle, the Orchestra was merged into the Staatskapelle Halle in 2006.
