Pakalum Paathiravum is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film directed by Ajai Vasudev, starring Kunchacko Boban, Rajisha Vijayan and Guru Somasundaram in lead roles. The film is a remake of the 2018 Kannada film Aa Karaala Ratri. The film had its theatrical release on 3 March 2023. Subsequently, it was made available to stream on ZEE5 on 28 April 2023.
Amala is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language thriller film directed by Nishad Ebrahim, starring Srikanth, Rajisha Vijayan, Anarkali Marikar and Appani Sarath. Srikanth's character speaks in Tamil in the film. and was an official selection at 2021 Chennai International Film Festival.
Hema Committee was an advisory committee formed by the Government of Kerala in July 2017, to investigate the issues related to sexual violence and gender inequality, in the Malayalam cinema industry and to submit solutions to them. It was a three-member committee chaired by former Kerala High Court judge Justice Hema. Film actress Sharada and former IAS officer KB Vatsalakumari, were other members of the committee. The committee was formed when the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), an organization formed after the incident of a young actress; who was assaulted in the year 2017 in Kochi, complained to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
