The population of Klimovo accounts for 46.3% of the district's total population.

The area of the district is 1,760 square kilometers (680 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Starodub. Population: 40,414 (2010 Census); 44,573 ; 51,326 (1989 Census). The population of Starodub accounts for 47.0% of the district's total population.
