Kris James is an English singer-songwriter from Liverpool, England. He was the former lead singer of The Scheme, but now performs as a solo artist. [1]

Career

In early 2015, Kris James together with Kyle Carpenter and Aleksey Lopez made up a boyband called The Scheme. After performing as the lead singer of the boyband The Scheme, Liverpool born singer-songwriter Kris James launched his solo career in mid 2018.

His debut single "Eyes Open" peaked at number 25 in the official iTunes chart, where it held the position for four weeks. [2] The follow-up single "Anymore" was released in the Autumn of 2018 and entered the official iTunes at number 1 in the genre of electronic on the day of release. James' third single "I'll be Here" peaked at number 19 in the official overall iTunes charts. [3] The song was produced by Tom Fuller, who is best known for his work with Amy Winehouse and Robbie Williams.

On 6 November 2021, Kris James presented a debut self-titled album in collaboration with Fairwood Music Publishing, known as the longstanding publishers of David Bowie. [4]

On 5 August 2022, Kris James released "The Way You Move", [5] and on 28 October 2022, the next track "Home" was presented. [6] [7]

Throughout September Kris James supported Anastacia on her ‘I’m Outta Lockdown’ tour across Europe in Geneva, Rome, Florence, and more. [8]

In October and November 2022, Kris joined up with Pop Idol winner and international pop star Will Young on his 20 Years Tour in numerous venues including Glasgow and London Palladium accordingly. [9] [10] [11]

Inna contributed significantly to the songwriting process of Yo, and collaborated extensively with Romanian producer David Ciente on its songs. An experimental and heavily gypsy music-influenced effort, Yo marks the first time Inna took control over an album's creative process; it acts as a departure from her past EDM releases. A ballad, the song lyrically features a female empowerment message about leaving a toxic relationship and gaining confidence. A French, Swahili, Luganda, and English love song, the track's genre has been described as Afro and dancehall-influenced pop. Music critics gave mixed reviews to the track, praising its catchiness but criticizing the track as sonically uninteresting.

"Not My Baby" is a song by Romanian singer Inna, released for digital download as a single by Global Records on 3 April 2020. It was composed by Inna alongside Lara Andersson, Michelle Buzz, Junior Oliver Frid, and Fridolin Walcher, while the latter received credit as a producer under his stage name of Freedo. The song was noted as being a hi-NRG-inspired dance-pop, deep house, EDM and Europop track, as well as a departure from the experimental and gypsy music-influenced sound of Inna's Spanish studio album, Yo. Inna had already retransitioned to a more electronic production prior to the song with "Bebe" in 2019. The lyrics of the former delve on a toxic relationship with a selfish and untruthful partner.
