The West Bengal Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of West Bengal. It is located in the B. B. D. Bagh area of Kolkata, the capital of the state. Members of the Legislative assembly are directly elected by the people. The legislative assembly comprises 294 Members of Legislative Assembly, all directly elected from single-seat constituencies. Its term is five years, unless sooner dissolved.

Subhranshu Roy is an Indian politician of All India Trinamool Congress from the state of West Bengal. He is a two term member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. On 29 May 2017, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party and later Trinamool Congress suspended him for six years. He is the former MLA from Bijpur.
Gouri Sankar Dutta was an Indian Politician from the state of West Bengal. He was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. He represented the Tehatta assembly constituency as a member of the All India Trinamool Congress. In March 2021, he along with Bachchu Hansda joined Bharatiya Janata Party after being denied ticket for 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. He died of COVID-19 at age 70 on 28 April 2021.

Debendra Nath Roy was an Indian politician. He was elected to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Hemtabad in the 2016 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. In May 2019, he along with Subhranshu Roy, Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya and more than 50 Councillors joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of senior BJP leaders Mukul Roy and Kailash Vijayvargiya.
Sunil Singh is an Indian politician and a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Noapara in West Bengal, a seat which he won in February 2018 as an All India Trinamool Congress candidate. He was also the chairman of Garulia municipality till September 2019. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in June 2019. Singh left BJP by withdrawing from the municipal councillor candidature on 12 February 2022, after which he rejoined All India Trinamool Congress on 13 February 2022.
The 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election was the 17th quinquennial legislative election held in West Bengal, to elect all 294 members of West Bengal Legislative Assembly. This electoral process of 292 seats unfolded between 27 March to 29 April 2021, taking place in eight phases. Voting for the two remaining constituencies was delayed to 30 September 2021.

Biswajit Das is an Indian politician from the All India Trinamool Congress party. In May 2021, he was elected as a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from Bagdah constituency. He ran for the office as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and defeated Paritosh Kumar Saha of All India Trinamool Congress by 9,792 votes in 2021 West Bengal Assembly election, but returned to the All India Trinamool Congress later in 2021.
