Kristi Ross is an entrepreneur based in Chicago. She is co-CEO and President of tastytrade, Inc., a financial media company [1] and parent company to tastyworks, an online brokerage firm; [2] Quiet Foundation, Inc., a registered investment advisory firm; [3] the Small Exchange, Inc., a futures exchange awaiting CFTC approval; [4] and dough, LLC, a new fee free online brokerage firm launching sometime in 2019.

Career

Kristi Ross is a Chicago-based entrepreneur who serves as co–CEO and President of tastytrade, Inc., a financial media company that also launched the brokerage firm tastyworks, the advisory platform Quiet Foundation, and the Small Exchange, a futures exchange approved by the CFTC in 2020. [5]

Previously, she was CFO of thinkorswim Group, where she led mergers, acquisitions, and integration, including the $750 million sale to TD Ameritrade in 2009. [6] Before that, she was CFO of Automated Trading Desk Specialists and began her career as a CPA serving clients in the trading industry. [7]

In 2014, Ross co-founded dough, Inc., a visual front-end trading platform, which later rebranded as tastyworks in 2017, emphasizing content-driven and user-friendly financial media. [8] In 2021, she co-led tastytrade’s sale to IG Group in a transaction valued at approximately $1 billion. [9]

Kristi Ross grew up in Wisconsin. [15] Ross trained to become a CPA at St. Norbert College. [1]
