Li Yundi ; born 7 October 1982) is a Chinese concert pianist popularly known as Yundi and formerly Yundi Li. Born in Chongqing, Li is most well known for being the youngest pianist, at the age of 18, to win the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition, in 2000, and for judging it in 2015.
The International Chopin Piano Competition, often referred to as the Chopin Competition, is a piano competition held in Warsaw, Poland. It was initiated in 1927 and has been held every five years since 1955. It is one of the few competitions devoted entirely to the works of a single composer, in this case, Frédéric Chopin.
Garrick Olof Ohlsson is an American classical pianist. He is the only American to win first prize in the International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition, in 1970. He also won first prize at the Busoni Competition in Italy and the Montreal Piano Competition in Canada. He was awarded the Avery Fisher Prize in 1994 and received the 1998 University Musical Society Distinguished Artist Award in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Ohlsson has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards, winning one in 2008.

The Academy of Music in Kraków is a conservatory located in central Kraków, Poland. Li Ming-Qiang - is a Chinese classical pianist. He studied under Alfred Wittenberg and Tatiana Kravchenko, and as a young pianist in the late 1950s and early 1960s won awards at several Eastern European music competitions: the Smetana Competition in Prague in 1957, the George Enescu International Piano Competition in Bucharest in 1958, the International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition (sic) in Warsaw in 1960. His recordings comprise pieces by the classics and romantics, as well as piano music by Chinese composers. During the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966–1976), Li Ming-Qiang was sent to a work farm and allegedly subjected to torture. Unfortunately, the Cultural Revolution marked the end of his career as a concert pianist, although studio recordings of his performances were made as late as 1982.
