Kuresoi North is a constituency in Kenya. Part of the former constituency of Kuresoi Community, it is one of eleven constituencies in Nakuru County formed in 2010 after Kuresoi Constituency was split into two. [1] [2]

The constituencies of Kenya are used to elect members of the National Assembly, the lower chamber of the Kenyan Parliament. In accordance with Article 89 of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya, there are 290 constituencies, based on a formula where these constituencies were to be delineated based on population numbers. Each constituency returns one Member of Parliament. The constituencies are further divided to electoral wards.

Zakayo Cheruiyot is a Kenyan politician who was born in 1954 at Kapsogut village in Bureti Constituency, Kericho County. His father, Arap Komuilong, was an Assistant Chief to Arap Tengecha, the Chief, during the colonial period. Cheruiyot attended Kapsogut Primary School prior to joining Litein High School and later Chesamis High School for his A-level education. The revered administrator holds a bachelor's degree in Literature and Governance from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Studies from Birmingham University in the UK. He is widely trained in public administration and has undergone major short courses on administration and management at the Kenya School of Government.

Cherangany Constituency, comprises the larger Trans Nzoia East District; otherwise known as Cherangani Sub-County, with an approximate area of 556.9 square km. It is an electoral constituency in Kenya, which was established/created for the 1988 general election.

In 2012, Kuresoi district was split into two constituencies; Kuresoi North and Kuresoi South. A large part of kuresoi is the East Mau forest, part of the largest water catchment in Kenya, Mau forest. Two major rivers, Mara River and Sondu Miriu have their sources in Kuresoi, Molo River which drains into Lake Baringo has one of its tributaries Ribeti starting in Kuresoi.

It was created prior to the 2013 election when Kasarani Constituency and Embakasi Constituency boundaries were revised. It borders Ruaraka Constituency to the north; Roysambu and Westlands constituencies to the northwest; Embakasi Central Constituency to the east; Kamukunji Constituency to the south; and Starehe Constituency to the west.

William Kiprop Komen was a Kenyan KANU politician who served as a Member of Parliament for Rongai, Nakuru Town, and the former Nakuru West Constituency.
