The 1972 CFL season is considered to be the 19th season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 15th Canadian Football League season.
Douglas Gordon Brown is a retired National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL) defensive tackle. He played college football at Simon Fraser University. Brown won the CFL's Most Outstanding Canadian Award in 2001. He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 2001 until his retirement in 2011, competing in three Grey Cups: 2001, 2007, and 2011. He was a CFL All-Star eight times.
Vaughn Samuel "Buddy" Alliston Jr. was a professional American football player who played the positions of guard and linebacker. He played college football at the University of Mississippi before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) in the 15th round of the 1956 NFL Draft. Alliston first played professionally in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 1956, he was the runner-up for the CFL's Most Outstanding Lineman Award. After years of military service, he played in the American Football League (AFL) for the Denver Broncos in 1960.
Joseph Andrew Aguirre was an American football end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins, as well as for the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). He also spent time in the Canadian Football League with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Edmonton Eskimos, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. In his time in the CFL, he won the Dave Dryburgh Memorial Trophy as the Western Interprovincial Football Union's Top Scorer in 1950 and again in 1954. Aguirre played college football at Saint Mary's College of California and was drafted in the eleventh round of the 1941 NFL Draft.
Marv Allemang is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman and defensive lineman who played 14 seasons in the Canadian Football League. He most notably played center for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Ottawa Rough Riders later in his career.
Gerald Alan Alphin is a former professional gridiron football wide receiver and slotback who played eight seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1986 to 1996, mainly for the Ottawa Rough Riders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Alphin played college football at Kansas State University. Alphin recorded four 1,000-yard receiving seasons, including a period of three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Rough Riders during which he was considered one of the best receivers playing in the CFL. He was named an East all-star in 1988.
Marcus "Chunky" Adams is a Canadian football defensive tackle who played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL) for eight seasons. He also was on the rosters of the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL, the Colorado Crush and Spokane Shock of the Arena Football League, and the Peoria Rough Riders of af2 throughout his professional career. He played college football at Eastern Kentucky.
Donovan Eaton Alexander is a former professional Canadian football defensive back. He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the third round of the 2007 CFL Draft. He was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and upon his release, signed with the Alouettes that same year. He later played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders for two seasons and the Edmonton Eskimos for three before signing with Winnipeg. In 2012, he was named a West All-Star with the Eskimos. He played college football at North Dakota. He retired in November, 2014.
Darvin Adams is an American professional football wide receiver for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Adams is a two-time CFL champion, winning the 107th Grey Cup and 108th Grey Cup by defeating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in both games. He was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2011, Adams has also been a member of the Virginia Destroyers (UFL) and Toronto Argonauts (CFL). He played college football at Auburn with whom he won the 2011 BCS National Championship.
Henry F. Janzen was a Canadian football kick returner and defensive back who played in the Canadian Football League for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1959 to 1965.
Brian Ah Yat is a former American football quarterback who played three seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League. He played college football at the University of Montana. He was also a member of the Hawaii Hammerheads and Chicago Rush. Ah Yat became a free agent in February 2002 after playing 45 games for the Blue Bombers. He currently serves as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Damien Memorial School.
Michael Allen is a former Canadian football defensive back who played seven seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ottawa Rough Riders and BC Lions. He was drafted by the Blue Bombers in the fourth round of the 1988 CFL Draft. He played at Bemidji State University, Division II NCAA in Bemidji, Minnesota, USA in 1984. He then transferred to CIS football at Carleton University in 1986. Allen won three Grey Cup championships, two with the Blue Bombers and one with the Lions.
Al Ackland is a former Canadian football offensive end. Ackland played in two games for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League during the 1961 season.
Kesi K. Afalava was a Canadian football defensive lineman who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. During the 1984 season, Afalava played in two games for the Blue Bombers and one game for the Lions.

Tim Allan is a former Canadian football offensive tackle who played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. In 1978, he played in six regular season games between the two teams. While with the Argonauts, he recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
Andre Allen is a former Canadian football defensive end who played one game for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League in 1995, recording a single tackle. He played college football for the Northern Iowa Panthers. He now is a lifelong HyVee Gas Clerk at the Waukee HyVee. The Acadia Axemen football team represents Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports. The team has been in continuous operation since 1957 when they played their first full season in the Nova Scotia Junior Canadian Football League. The program entered the top tier in Maritime football in 1962 and has been competing there ever since. The program saw its greatest success from 1975 to 1981 where they won six conference championships, appeared in four Vanier Cup national championships, and won two of those in 1979 and in 1981.
Randy Ambrosie is the 14th and current commissioner of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Ambrosie played Canadian football professionally as an offensive guard for the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, Toronto Argonauts, and Edmonton Eskimos. He was selected with the second overall pick in the 1985 CFL Draft by the Stampeders. Over the course of a nine-season career, he played in 142 professional games and became a Grey Cup champion. Ambrosie played college football at the University of Manitoba.
