Kurt Gieseler (born 21 January 1933) is a former German cyclist. He competed in the team pursuit event at the 1956 Summer Olympics. [1]

Kurt Steven Angle is an American retired professional wrestler, gold medalist in American freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympic Games, and former collegiate wrestler. He is best known for his tenures in both WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). While at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Angle won numerous accolades, including being a two-time NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion in the heavyweight division. After graduating from college, Angle won the gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1995 World Wrestling Championships. He then won the freestyle wrestling gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics despite competing with a broken neck. He is one of four people to win the Junior Nationals, NCAA, World Championships, and the Olympics. In 2006, he was named by USA Wrestling as the greatest shoot wrestler ever and one of the top 15 college wrestlers of all time. He was inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 for his amateur accomplishments.

Dieter Gieseler won the United Team of Germany's first medal in the event in its first appearance with his silver; it was the first medal for a German athlete since 1936.
